"Christine was the reason I hired this company. She is a true designer, and made great suggestions that none of the other companies came up with. I am very happy with the results."

"I highly recommend Skyline Professional Painting! I called Aymen to request an estimate for drywall refinishing in a powder room and I got in touch with him immediately. He said he could come later in the evening to provide an estimate. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and his price was excellent, so I hired him immediately. He started spackling that evening. He covered everything and cleaned up afterwards. I was so pleased I asked to him repaint my kitchen as well. The price was excellent and included top of the line Benjamin Moore paint. His team neatly covered and prepped everything. I?m so happy he was able to take on my project and complete it in a timely manner. I am so happy with the results!"

"Magic painting has gone above and beyond every time. Moises has painted the entirety of my house at this point, including a recent complete gut renovation. He has done everything from basic painting to complex historic wood restoration and specialty Fine Paints of Europe finishing. Heâ s courteous, attentive and more thorough than any other contractor on the job. I sincerely wish I had other jobs to hire him for because he is truly a pleasure to work with. His work is second to none and I would recommend to anyone who is truly looking for the best"

"Best experience ever with a contractor. Extremely professional and very attentive to detail. Looks like the entire cabinet was replaced with new. Much more affordable then replacing all the cabinets. Our salesman Joe DeLuca was very professional and absolutely no pressure presentation. Scott's craftsmanship was perfect. Love Kitchen Magic"

"The owner decided on what I needed over the phone and sent a technician to do the job.  The problem was that, because of the nature of the problem, he really couldn't re-enamel in a satisfactory way.  Although he eventually looked at the sink himself, and it was re-treated twice, the problem really couldn't be fixed. <br />"

"I had previously used this company to refinish a claw foot tub in my third floor bathroom, and while they were there doing that I showed Nelson the second floor bath, told him what I wanted and asked for a quote which he gave me.  The third floor went very well so I hired him to do the second floor. He estimated it would take him a week.  He got a little behind schedule, partly because he was running around with me trying to help me pick out new tile. To his credit he did not leave me hanging while he went and started another job as so many contractors do, but stayed until he was finished even though I know he had to juggle his schedule. The only thing he didn't do was install the new vanity, sink and medicine cabinet.  Not his fault, the place I ordered it from messed up and it wasn't ready when he was there.  He actually came back a few days later to do it, I still didn't have it.  In general the job went well.  The tile work is a little uneven and one of the shelves is a little sloppy, (not very noticeable you have to look closely) so I can't give them an A for quality,  but overall I'm satisfied and I feel I got a lot of value for the price. I'm planning to use them again to do refinishing in the master bathroom"

"I purchased a big deal in May 2014 for 2 slide out shelves for $164, Scott got in touch with me & made an appointment to measure where the 2 shelves were going. Scott came on time, was very pleasant, took his measurements & told me there would be a wait of 4-6 weeks. I was fine with that, A few weeks later Scott called me to tell me one of the shelves came in with  a slight crack in it & he didn't want to give me the shelf in that condition, he could come & install the 1 good shelf & the other when it came in, I told him I wasn't in that much of a hurry & could wait, so he would only have to make one trip-(I live over 40 miles from Scott). 2 weeks later I get a phone call that the other shelf was in & we scheduled an appointment for install. Scott arrived on time & went right to work. I was so happy with the quality & how they looked, that I made a deal with Scott to purchase 3 more shelves. Again this process went well & not only did I get what I paid for, Scott made the edges around the shelves an inch higher than he was supposed to-(3" instead of 2", this was important because the higher edge held my items in place better) and he also matched the wood to my cabinets. Once again we were very happy with Scott & his work. Well October came & we called Scott & ordered  more shelves, which are in the process of getting made. Scott is a true professional, he explains everything he does, it shows he loves what he does  & his prices are very reasonable considering this is a special order  product. OH and did I mention how great it is to find things in my cabinets???? No more finding items 5 months after the best buy date because they were stuffed inthe back. everything is neat & easy to find. Big thanks to Scott & Shelf Concepts, anything I need that Scott does, he will be my only phone call & anytime I have company, the first thing I do is show off my easy to reach new pull out  shelves. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Irvington, NJ

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
