Gleyson Olivera from Vellox was the only company rep of all of the other 5 quotes I received who came to my home AND walked me around my house giving recommendations as well as listening to my concerns. The lead time was acceptable, the quotation was competitive and there were no "hidden" extras such as rotten wood add-ons. Also, Vellox was the only company to account for overhangs on my roof and bring the ice and water shield farther up the roof. All of the other companies missed this. I made the decision to go with Vellox and the work was completed in one day. The workers did a fantastic job, the installation looks extremely precise, neat and it's painfully obvious how poorly installed my original roof was. I am beyond pleased. The gutter installs also came out perfect and include guards so I don't have to clean them out again. "Roofing company sent someone within a few hours of my call (on May 22 or 23) to do an estimate. Company president (Parker Willard) and his son (Parker, Jr.) arrived, and were punctual and personable. They showed me photos of the roof and explained what needed to be done. An estimate was provided by email within about 24 hours. I signed the contract and offered to provide a deposit, later that week. I was told no deposit would be required for this small job. We were told that the work would be scheduled the following week. The work was actually done on June 7 and 8, consistent with a call made to us earlier that week to schedule it. It was a one-man job, for about 1-1/2 days. The worker was pleasant and readily responded to a request to check a couple of shingles he had not done. From what I can see of it, the work was done neatly and appears to be what we asked for. (I can see the finished bay window roof from a window above it.) All in all, we were quite pleased. Note: I put "N/A" on price because I chose not to get other bids, so I do not know if another roofer would have charged more or less than we paid. I went sole-source because of the relatively small amount of work, this company;s A rating, their responsiveness to my call, and limitations on my own schedule that week."

""Newton Roofing" had done work for me 25-30 years ago. I didn't know the name had been changed to "Newton Roofing Residential", and was under new management/ownership.I called and Mr. Melo answered right away. I explained the problem. He personally came to inspect the following day. I had feared a new roof might be needed, but he explained the damage was likely caused by a damaged (perforated) shingle. One of his crew came out 2 days later and replaced the shingle. The price was reasonable. I also noted another shingle that lifted, due to a "nail-pop". This, a relatively minor matter, was repaired at no extra charge. I cant' recommend Newton Roofing Residential strongly enough. They were prompt, efficient, professional, and polite. Mr. Melo took the time to explain matters to me in detail. I will certainly be using them for roofing matters in future,"

"FRS Roofing won the bid to fix the main slate roof and the 4 rubber porch roofs on my home. Chris from FRS provided the winning estimate after taking a meticulous inspection of the roofs which included identifying the number of slates needed to restore the main roof. He also explained why the rubber roofs installed by a local contractor 20 years ago had prematurely failed. The FRS work crews assigned to our project were all skilled and knowledgeable of their craft. Every crew member possessed a good demeanor and showed respect for our property. Once started, the job was completed without delay as can sometimes occur when a crew is pulled to work on another project. An unforeseen delay did occur when the chimney was being re-flashed. During the bidding process, all visible sides of the chimney appeared to be in fair shape. Once the crew could see the far side of the chimney, they discovered it was completely devoid of mortar. I was shown a photo of this miracle house of cards and immediately authorized a complete rebuild of the chimney which FRS performed at a reasonable additional cost. There were no surprises with the rubber roofs. The original fiber board underlayment which was disintegrating from water damage was replaced with a new material that is impervious to water. Also, the proper rubber was used on the edge strip to prevent it from peeling off as had happened on the old rubber roof. Overall, I am more than satisfied with the job and would not hesitate to use FRS roofing again for any property new or old!"
