Small jobs welcome

I’m a local handyman with a small crew who helps people keep their homes and yards looking solid and functional. I take care of everyday home repairs, drywall, paint, fixtures, doors, shelves, and general fixes—as well as outdoor work like lawn care, decks, and fencing.\n\nI’m dependable, easy to work with, and I care about doing things the right way. I treat every home and property like it’s my own and aim to leave clients feeling relieved, not stressed. If you’ve got a list of things inside or outside that “just need to get done,” I’m your guy.

"<p>Started with quotes from several lighting companies. Oregon Outdoor Lighting insisted on a night time temporary display which was amazing and really showed the vision. Ryan worked in the pouring rain to be able to show us what an amazing effect his lighting design would create. We were very impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. Once we decided on Oregon Outdoor Lighting the install was scheduled quickly and done efficiently. They continued to come out for several night time visits, tweaking lights for the perfect effect. The property is amazing and we've added to it! These guys are great!!!</p> <br />"

"We are beyond pleased with the work done for us by Nifelle Design.  I have worked with other designers in the past, and the results were really not that great. In contrast, Jennifer and Kristina are true professionals.  They helped us re-design our family room space, which involved removing our fireplace and mantel, and building a new fireplace and mantel on a smaller scale so that we could mount a TV on the wall above.  They helped us discover our own sense of style, and listened carefully to us regarding how we wanted to use the space.  The results are stunning; the room has twice the seating room now, the fabrics are rich and carefully coordinated, and the furniture was selected with comfort in mind.  Jennifer selected accessories not only by finding new ones, but also by looking at things we already owned.  In addition, she helped us find photographs that had meaning for us, and had them framed to become a part of the design.   <br /> Nifelle Design made the details of the project easy.  Every single person involved (with the construction of the new fireplace, with hanging new lighting and artwork, and with delivery of furniture), was on time, respectful of our property, and a joy to work with. Billing was quite reasonable and straightforward. No detail is too small to escape their attention--they discovered a missing screw on one of our new counter stools in the kitchen, and made sure we were provided with one! <br /> I have intentionally left out the cost of service.  One of the advantages of working with Nifelle Design is that they allowed us to choose pieces from a variety of options at all price points, so the entire cost of what was selected for us was based on how much we were willing to spend. <br /> I will be recommending Nifelle Design to all of my friends, and I feel truly fortunate to have found them.  We are delighted with everything they have done for us. <br />"

"It went exceptionally well. They arrived for a quote, but were ready to work immediately. They took before/after pictures, treated the roof, sealed where necessary, added missing vents, and left the premises cleaner than when they got here. They provided the icing on the cake, and the cherry would be if they uploaded the before/after and provided a secure link to download them - but still a great experience."

"Great. They were on time, courteous and professional. It was cold and the debris was frozen. Thee were no complaints. Nice young men. I will use them in the future for not only gutter cleaning, but window cleaning too. They also put up Christmas lights. :-)"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Kalama, WA

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
