"Anyone looking for quality electricians, do not hesitate to contact Epic Solar & Electric! Just had them replace and upgrade our old Federal Pacific panel, run a sub panel to the garage, and bring everything up to current code. They were on budget, on time, and great to work with. Highly recommended!"

"The tech showed up a little early which I appreciated; nothing worse than being late for an appointment. He quickly diagnosed the issue with our solar system and is working to get a new inverter under warranty from the manufacturer. He also installed a critter guard to keep the birds from nesting under our panels."

"BlueCore was very responsive to my request for service and they showed up when they said they would. They are knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The cost of troubleshooting seems quite high. However, in an industry where solar companies are here today, gone tomorrow, BlueCoreâ s service is first rate."

"First-rate service with a personal touch! Itâ s hard to find this kind of care and attention anymore when looking for home repairs. We needed our roof redone and a bunch of electrical repairs. Redrocks Roof and Solar worked with us every step of the way to make sure we were completely satisfied while respecting our budget. They also worked diligently with our insurance company to make sure that nothing was left out of our estimate. Robert and Brooke definitely go the extra mile on everything!"

"From initial contact to generating power, the process has taken roughly 4 months, which is to be expected with major contractor work that requires permitting, utility oversight, HOA approval, and scheduling. Throughout the process, I had a project manager who I could contact with any questions or concerns I had. A coworker went through a nightmare with his Homeowners Association when he installed panels without their written approval (his installer said CO law prevents them from blocking a solar install, but they weren't fully correct). My PM gave me a packet with all plans, what the panels would look like, where they would be on the roof, and other information so that I could submit it to my HOA early for their approval. After permits, HOA approvals, and utility approvals were obtained, I was contacted to set up an install date. They were flexible and gave me options which was important with my workload. The install took two days, and the team that came out was very personable and friendly (even to my dog!), and I have nothing but nice things to say about them. Inspection went well, and they hooked up the monitoring solution that allows me to log into a dashboard from anywhere on the Internet and see my current and trend of power production. We're turning the switch tomorrow after the utility installs their meter! This is a great company that I highly recommend. More of a personal touch than the other companies I got quotes from."

FAQs for solar panels for electric system repair projects in Lafayette, CO

Solar panels are fairly low-maintenance, but they do need occasional attention. A quick wash a couple of times a year and a yearly professional inspection help maintain efficiency. Watch for cracked glass, loose wiring, or hail damage; small fixes cost far less than waiting until output drops. If a panel is badly shattered, replacement—handled by a licensed pro—is often the smarter call.

Most panels last 25 to 50 years, so replacement is rare. Swap them out only when output drops noticeably, the warranty has run its course, or storm damage makes repairs impractical. Track your production data; if efficiency continues to slip even after minor fixes, it’s time to consult a solar installation professional and consider replacing a panel.

Homeowners are accountable for solar panel repairs unless their system is under a leasing agreement. Warranty coverage may reduce repair expenses for specific components. Warranty protection covers repairs when panels fail due to installation errors or unexplained issues. However, if a unit cracks due to an impact, the homeowner is responsible.

Always contact your installer and review your warranty before initiating repairs. Many manufacturers offer warranties ranging from 10 to 20 years. Inverters have a 10-year warranty, panels carry a minimum five-year workmanship warranty, and the overall system is protected for 25 years.
