"The repair job went WAY better than expected! Ronnie was wonderful! He was straightforward about the work they were doing. They discovered some unexpected areas that really needed addressed. He explained the situation and probably outcomes to me as well as his concerns. Although it ended up. being more money, it was my decision based on what he showed me. Well worth the extra money - my roof and chimney will never leak again. I am grateful for the quality of work that was done on my roof and chimney rebuild. Absolutely would recommend Joyland Roofing to anyone and everyone. Great guys, great price and great quality! Thanks for everything!"

"My experience with Fortified Roofing was outstanding. Fortified Roofing installed my new roof a couple years ago and they did an amazing job. They were quick, clean and gave a very reasonable price. They also offered a great warranty. The roof looks amazing. Last winter I noticed I was getting a leak in my attic around the chimney. I called Fortified to report the problem, they came out immediately and inspected the attic and decide to reflash my chimney at no charge. A few weeks later I notice I was still getting water in my attic. I called Fortified back and they immediately came out again and this time they peeled back the new shingles and installed an ice guard, replaced some plywood and re shingled, again at no charge. It turns out the leak was coming from the chimney and I needed to have my chimney rebuilt by a separate company, Fortified offered to reflash the new chimney once it was installed, again at no charge. I was blown away on how considerate and personal my house felt to the staff and crew. John and Joy were an absolute pleasure to deal with. I didn’t feel like a customer I felt like a close friend. Fortified roofing went above and beyond, and I would highly recommend them! 5 stars! -Dave"

"We could not be happier with the work that was done by MK Remodeling! From beginning through completion, they handled our project with professionalism while demonstrating their expertise in the attention to detail that was applied in their work. Tarps were laid and they cleaned up each day, leaving as much of our house in the best condition as possible throughout the project. This respect for our property was greatly appreciated and they truly treated our house with the same amount of care they treat their own. Also, their communication was great, always filling us in with updates and what to expect from day to day. Their responsiveness to our questions, whether through email or text, was immediate. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and really took the stress out of what can be a stressful experience. For any project you may have, I cannot recommend MK Remodeling enough! Thanks for everything guys!"

"John was very responsive and punctual when I was looking to get roofers to look at my roof and assess the problem and give me estimates for work needed. He came early on a Saturday morning before heading off to another job he was doing. I really appreciated him fitting me in. He immediately noticed that I had a shoe rack by the door and took his shoes off without me asking before I took him upstairs to show him where water had penetrated into middle bedroom through window frame and ran down wall after a big melt of snow in late February. He climbed the roof and assessed that roof was in overall good condition (unlike another roofer who told me I needed a whole new roof!). He believed the issue was due to debris from tree overhanging back portion of my flat roof flowing to and blocking drain box. Melting water from snow had nowhere else to go but up and over the drain box and down the outside wall of the house. He said he had installed drain boxes that keep leaves and other debris from blocking it. He sent me a quote a day or two later. I ultimately decided to hold off on doing any work right away based on the varying opinions from roofers on what the causation issue was (did I need an entire new roof or no roofing work at all - have an electrician install heat tape in drain box and down drain spout to prevent ice damming during the winter). Furthermore, two subsequent heavy rain storms showed no water intruded through the window frame, so the immediate need for repair had subsided. Certainly I would consider using John should I go with a new drain box option. He came across and knowledgeable."

Philadelphia, PA 93 friends 11 reviews Share review Embed review Write an update Edit review 3/15/2019 Praise and Honor to Jehovah. I have been praying and watching this company and it's reviews ( the low star reviews are complaints about scheduling and price) for a long while. I did my homework and checked all their credentials, better business, doing business in Phila, Licenses and Inspection, insurances, this company has an A+ rating and ALL credentials checked out. I had NEVER done my homework before, GLAD I took 10 minutes to do it The reason is I have a three story home (4) roofs including the porch, in the Germantown area and it needed special attention immediately! Also all the other companies considered my job to be VERY dangerous. I have had the exact same roofing problem for(29) years and spent money with the wrong people. So this is a big deal for me!! Squirrels had finally dug a hole and were living rent free, noisy, and vandalizing places that I couldn't see. I could hear them scratching the 3rd floor ceiling in the front of the house where there was already a leak and finally I saw his face peeking through, the ceiling in the back room started leaking (5) small buckets, also all my rotten wood and old shingles needed attention yes I had reached that point, I needed Reiter Roofing. (1) Evan came out to speak with me, great guy, reassured me I was with the best company. Emailed me the estimate.(It was far more than I had been estimated with other companies) He said they couldn't get to me until spring,(2) I wanted to speak with Barry Reiter personally and he made time to talk with me. I told him I didn't want a bandage on anything I wanted everything done, he was looking at me like lady you can't afford this job, however, he remained professional and I remained calm, the price was steep (3) remember I said I had been praying and watching this company for a long time, this owner is old school and confident in his TEAM(S) yes TEAM(s). He matches the roofing TEAM for each job, that really impressed me. He really cares for his company and his customers. He talked about safety and professionalism and his insurances, and his credentials, the company is top of the list with A+ ratings( check for your self) Barry revised my contract at my request a couple of times without any problems. He gave me a copy of the permit until the original one arrived and it did. All these details made me feel comfortable with Reiter Roofing (4) I got cold feet because of my $$$. But let me say, I did my homework and it was priced correctly. You get what you pay for. (5) I was on the fence! Barry scheduled his 3 stories or more, safety first TEAM to come out, 6 trucks arrived started the work they replaced the entire porch roof porch first and made sure it was safe for their ladders ....... Bob (the supervisor/owner of his TEAM was on point). They work on sections and are very detailed, my new wide beautiful gutters and new drains were re-positioned and work so much better. Both Barry and Bob expressed to me that it takes harnesses, scaffolds and men who love what they do to go up on angles, heights, lift heavy equipment (3ft propane tanks, rolls and rolls of rubber roofing materials and much more. The initial 29 year old leak was in the very front 3rd floor above the power lines next to the the A-Frame and VERY DANGEROUS. They took every safety precaution and completed the job. Bob assured me I won't ever have to worry about these roofs. I believe him. This TEAM had commercial equipment and came to work not play. (6) Bob's TEAM have carpentry skills, painting, skills, plumbing skills and MORE!!! They included metal drip edge capping to protect the wood from rot. They torched the rubber roof down. He was very patient with me when I asked for additional work not yet listed in the contract, (of course at additional charge) they gave me complimentary extra paint touches that made my whole job look great and complete. Their work is neat, clean, detailed, swift and efficient I didn't want a different company to do the added work. This team was professional, polite and hard workers ,(THANK YOU AGAIN BOB AND TEAM) THEY do EXCELLENT work and BOB has a great eye for design, I would highly recommend this TEAM. (7) MY ENTIRE job was done in 29 days and that's because it snowed and no work on weekends, plus additional work added, remember I mentioned they couldn't get to my job until spring, they started and finished before spring...02/13/19 - 03/12/19 (8) Barry Reiter owner of Reiter Roofing also Evan and Bob and Team are highly recommended. I am more than satisfied with Reiter Roofing. THANKS REITER ROOFING pictures arriving soon. Wim M. voted for this review Useful 1 Remove review N K. "This is a great company, and I was really satisfied with the job. From my initial meetings with Leslie, the owner, through the actual work, it all met and even exceeded my expectations. Roofing is never inexpensive, but it was a fair price for the work performed, roughly at the middle of the other estimates I received. Like pretty much every roofer these days, Roofing Logic's business model is to bring in a large crew and finish the entire job in one day, but these guys don't cut any corners and it's clear they take their work more seriously than other roofers. They are also very clear about what additional costs could potentially come up once the job gets started, for instance if they find any rotted sheathing or beams that need to be replaced. In our case, they replaced a few sections of plywood underlay, and I knew in advance what that would cost, so there were no surprises. Leslie is excellent at managing expectations, explaining the work that will be done, and following up on phone calls. I was equally happy with the new gutters and downspouts; they subcontract this, and the guy who does the work was excellent."

"East coast roofing systems replaced my roof, resolved issues with the poor installation of the previous roof, and educated me throughout the process. They were able to beat a competitors quote by $3,600 and they offered a longer warranty. The Bixby family appreciates their polite and professional workers too!!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Lafayette Hill, PA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
