"The roof above our laundromat contained a long row of dryer exhaust penetrations, several plumbing vents, and an older make-up air unit. Lint accumulated around the exhaust area, and the existing membrane had become discolored and brittle near several of the hottest penetrations. Water entered around two exhaust curbs during heavy rain, but the number of overlapping patches made it difficult to identify one clean repair area. The remaining roof also showed open seams and compressed insulation along the maintenance path. The contractor evaluated the roof together with the exhaust-service company. Each vent was labeled so that active equipment would not be confused with abandoned components. The replacement proposal included temporary exhaust coordination, curb improvements, removal of unused penetrations, new insulation, a cover board, a compatible single-ply membrane, and walkway protection. Operating requirements were discussed before the installation schedule was finalized."

The house had multiple layers of shingles that needed to come off and the garage also had the original cedar shingles in addition to the many layers of asphalt shingles. It was very messy getting the old roof off but the crew was really good about cleaning up. At the end of the first day the yard was a clean as it was before the work started. The entire job took only two days and the crew was able to start work the same week I signed the contract. Because less plywood was used than was quoted, the final price was even a few bucks less than the contracted price I agreed to. So overall I am very happy. Was a really smooth and easy project compared to past home projects."
