"Professional, timely and thorough. I am also using them for my lawn care and may I say my lawn has never looked greener. The only yard in my neighborhood with no dandelions :) It's still early in the season but so far so good. I couldn't be happier."

"Very pleased with the work Patric and his team did. Selected Wildlife T&LS from Angie’s List to get a quote for ‘cleaning up’ my yard in expectation of selling my property next year. My property had too many trees and shrubs that had overgrown the boundaries of my home’s fairly modest footprint. Patric was able to set up an appointment within a day and spent a good hour discussing his vision of what would make my property more appealing. I was impressed that Patric knew the name of every tree/shrub on my property (I had about 20-30 varieties, some very unique.) Patric was extremely intuitive about how to translate his vision and my requirements into a marketable setting that would make both of us happy. He seemed to understand that I was reluctant to turn my yard into a barren moonscape just for the benefit of a quick sale. Many of these plants had great meaning to me and he knew how to shape both of our visions while preserving the integrity of my foliage. Initially, I was a bit dismayed by the cost as so much needed to be done— trees removed, stump grinding, topsoil and seeding for the lawn areas. But when I got a few quote from other landscapers, I found that Patrick’s price was not only reasonable, but that his services allowed for one-stop shopping as he performed all the tasks that other landscapers told me they would have to outsource. So, I committed with Patric and am sure that I made the right choice as my yard looks 100% better… no, actually, 200% better. My house is no longer hidden by overgrown greenery, my lawn looks lovely, and his team (and him) did a lovely job on trimming all of shrubs that weren’t removed in the make-over of my property. Thank you Patric, and thank your team. I love it so much, it’s going to be hard to sell next year."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Lakehurst, NJ

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
