"This is the second time we've used Colin - He replaced out old wood fence with Vinyl a couple years ago (fantastic job) so we hired him for a new fence project in a different spot on our property. He was prompt, kept us u to date on progress with pictures since we were out of town, and completed the job on time. Our new fence is perfect. I highly recommend Sadler Fence!!"

"Vin and his team were outstanding! They came out to complete my wood fence repair right away and the improvements are definitely noticeable. it looks so beautiful! We had some fence posts replaced and the old gate was removed, so we have privacy and security. I am very fortunate to have met Vin and know that his work is done professionally and affordably. Thank you Vin for helping us finish a project right away! We highly recommend him for any small or big project with home repairs or home construction."

"Sabino was great to work with. He was professional and thorough when initially inspecting roof. He completed a major job with tear off of layers of asphalt and cedar shingles. He installed the new roof with quality products. Most importantly he worked well with us in a honest manner when issues arose to rebuild a chimney and replace beams on a rotting porch. His prices were very reasonable. He did a solid job cleaning up the area when finished. It is never an easy experience to have an old roof torn off and replaced, but Sabino and his workers made the experience positive."

FAQs for wood fence repair projects in Lancaster, NY

Financial responsibility depends on where the fence sits. If it’s clearly inside your lot, you foot the bill. When it’s right on the property line, state laws—California and Illinois are two examples—usually require both neighbors to split repair costs equally unless you agree otherwise. Check your local rules before scheduling work so you know exactly what you’re on the hook for.

Start by walking the fence line and noting every issue—loose boards, leaning posts, cracked panels. Next, gather at least three quotes from licensed contractors, comparing experience, warranties, and costs. Once you pick a pro, they’ll secure materials, reset posts, and fix or replace damaged sections. A thorough inspection and a qualified contractor keep the fence safe and extend its life.

Straightening a leaning fence costs an average of $200 to $400. A fencing pro will assess the damage, reset or replace the posts, and realign the panels so the fence stands upright again. Fixing the lean early on prevents further strain on framing and keeps the structure both sturdy and attractive.
