"When we had the house inspected there were some problems found. Misaligned tiles, small holes, etc. <br /> Jim examined the roof and sent someone out the next day for repairs. Jim came back and examined the work and was not pleased. He had the same person out a second time. When he returned all the work had still not been completed to his satisfaction so he finished it himself. <br /> While I am satisfied with the work done I feel he should find someone whao can do the work right the first time. <br />"

"Very good experience.  From the office staff to the roofers, the whole process was easy.  I called for an estimate and an appointment was made for the next day.  The guys came on time, thoroughly checked the roof, taking pictures of all they found.  The estimate was a good price (not great because I'm cheap) so I agreed.  They fixed the roof that same day, again taking after pictures to show me the repairs.  The guys were nice and professional. <br />"

"Skip and his team were exceptionally responsive to my repair need. I had a short window to obtain a repair estimate, and Skip fit me in without hesitation. His crewman came out, inspected as scheduled, took pictures of the damaged areas, then followed up with a repair quote. The quote was well within my budget, and once I returned my acceptance, Skip scheduled the repair. There was a delay by one day, due to another job that extended past expectations, but we were notified by phone call, and rescheduled for the first thing the following morning. My brother, who has some prior roofing experience observed the work on my behalf. He gave 2 thumbs up. The roofer was professional, clearly skilled at his craft. He moved tiles around to distribute the new, unweathered tiles around the roof. Sealed and glued tiles in place where needed, and cleared all debris from the area. He followed up with pictures of the "after repairs", and the final process was to email me an invoice. Skip also committed to add my home to his yearly walkover schedule to ensure that I am pre-warned of any further roof issues. Truly a world class operation. It is my pleasure to endorse ABB Roofing for repair services in Southern Nevada."

"Andy and Matt are absolutely wonderful! I had a huge flood loss and after a month long delay with the original contractor my friend recommended Axiom. They came in and within 2 days had begun rebuild. It was a massive rebuild of the kitchen, laundry room and 3 bathrooms so my stress level was through the roof but they made this nightmare as smooth as humanly possible. They worked with me every step of the way, kept me informed of what was going on and did a beautiful job! I would highly recommend Axiom for any remodel on your home."

"initial estimate was reasonable. From my first contact with Dallas at Source 1 roofing, it has been a painless and pleasant experience. I found the company on Angie’s list. First place I called and I didn’t even call anyone else as he came over immediately. The estimate was very honest and fair. The roof was evaluated and he was able to explain the process in detail and why my roof was leaking. I accepted the quote immediately and then put off scheduling for a few weeks due to the COVID-19, thinking that maybe they would not be working. Dallas contacted me and I set up the appointment that week with the very knowledgeable and helpful Office Manager, Jessica. She kept me updated until the materials were scheduled for delivery and I had my appointment set up. They were ahead of schedule so the work began the day after dropping off the materials. Very pleasant workers showed up, Anthony and Giovanni. Absolutely polite and explained in depth what they were doing, even showing me what the previous people had done that was substandard and caused the leak. They replaced rotted wood and it was very obvious that I was in good hands. The job was extremely thorough, no rush job. They went above and beyond what I was expecting. At the close of the job, they cleaned the whole roof and any left over repair mess; you would have no idea they had just worked on such an extensive repair. I have every confidence that my roof is now in good repair, taking a lot of stress and worry off my plate every time it rains. The night after the completion of the project, it rained pretty hard and, not to my surprise, there were no leaks any more. I would not hesitate to go to this company again when I have roofing needs. If you are like me and read all the reviews and check everything out, you will not be disappointed with this company. I am so impressed. I would vouch for their work ethic, timeliness, and honesty. Being a single woman in a, sometimes not so honest town, I have been rather leary of having home maintenance projects done. I must say, this has totally changed my way of thinking. There really are some honest business people out there who operate with integrity….this would be one of them. ."

"The process went very well, I waited for the company to do my work at my home about 2 months. It was worth it! When the boys showed up to do the work, they did it in 2 days and they did an awesome job, they cleaned very good and my roof looks great. Lisa provided me with a copy of their license and insurance certificates during the inspection so it was easy to decide to go with them once I did my homework. I know I made the right decision to hire A 1 All American Roofing. Thank you so much!"

"Rudolph arrived on time and was prepared to work the full day if needed to complete our projects. He has integrity! We had a laundry list of items to be repaired, and he let us know for several items on the list that we should hire another provider to complete the work. Some things he said he could do, but wouldn't do it as well as another professional. He even went so far as to provide us recommendations for who to call for a couple things (custom door weather stripping & ceiling fan repairs). We will be hiring him again later this year to repair and paint our fence/gates as well as install casters on a cabinet. The only reason I gave him a 'B' for quality was because one of our chair legs was repaired with a gap where there shouldn't be a gap, so the attention to detail on this repair faded. The quality of that work was not on par with everything else. He has promised to deliver puddy when in the area next since re-doing the repair may damage the chairs thanks to the wood glue. The wood glue overflow seemed excessive to my husband, but I believe that is normal and we were able to remove it once dry. The other 'B' for professionalism was regarding cleanup - which is one of my pet peeves with contractors. The keys to my back fence gate (which includes a house key) were left in the gate unattended during the day, and not returned at the end of the day. There were extra pieces of the chicken wire which we had to throw away. And the old chicken wire was thrown away in our recycling bin instead of trash bin."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Las Vegas, NV

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
