Hello, I have been in the landscaping and lawn care business for over 40 years. I started when I was just 10 years old, doing grass cutting and others services in my neighborhood. Now I am currently doing commercial and residential grounds maintenance. It would include normal maintenance, such as mowing, edging, weedeating, and trimming hedges and trees, as well as blowing off afterwards. Also, I will do pinestraw and mulch, and also flowers. Creating flowerbeds, and even setting up small gardens. Also, I offer a service to do clean up after storms, as well as trash removal.

"The lawn looked good with the exception of one new type of weed that I never had before. It has become very invasive, and I am still fight it. The lawn treatment took care of the other weeds except for that one. I didn't like that I had no idea when they were going to come, and I would have preferred to be here when they did the treatment."

"Sandro Balderas, The Grass Barber, has performed outstanding lawn maintenance for our home over the past 2 years. He was very prompt with responding to my call and came out to assess our lawn quickly. He is very fair and came up with a reasonable quote. Our yard has a lot of steep hills, so we were concerned it wasn’t cuttable but Sandro reassured me that his machine will do the job. He has an eye for detail and never disappoints when it comes to top quality lawn care. I can always count on Sandro to keep my lawn looking pristine! Also, he is a good man that I trust! Thank you Sandro!"

"We are extremely pleased with Aarics:
They were very easy to contact.  Answered the phone on my first call (no call-back issues).  Our initial appointment was scheduled promptly, and they arrived right on time.  Both of these issues (ease of contact and promptness) are huge issues with us, especially given our disappointments with other providers.
After inquiring about the issues, they provided a full assessment by testing all of our zones.  Several sprinkler heads were broken, which they repaired.  They found a non-functioning sprinkler head that I did not even know we had, and repaired it.  One of our zone valves was broken, causing it to not shut down and pump water through a leaky head even when the system was shut off (our main reason for calling).  They rebuilt the valve and repaired the leaky head.  They also discovered a slit in one of our drip lines, which was causing excessive moisture that had killed several plants.  They re-spliced the damaged drip line section.
Upon completion of our repairs, we discussed the appropriate "run times" for each zone, and they re-programmed our controller.
We also discussed other lawn needs (mulching and low-voltage lighting).  We plan to use them in the fall when we re-mulch, and likewise will call them for sure if we desire low voltage lighting.
Finally, they provided a direct cell phone number for future needs, to include any emergency situations.  We could not have been more pleased with discovering this company and receiving the top-notch service they provided."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Laurens, SC

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
