"I hired Neli over a week period for 3 different appliances, my dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and even kitchen sink! I had a fantastic experience: 1. I fixed my dryer with Thomas' excellent remote guidance, changing the timer and the switch! Fabulous guidance Thomas, with lots of money saved! I learned a lot in the process. 2. I determined that there was no dishwasher leak and in the process learned how to check for leaks and trouble shoot for some common repair issues. It cost $40.00 but as I had some water on the floor, I was ready to get a new dishwasher. Now, I am confident that it wasn't a leak and caused by putting in the dishes in a funny manner and not a repair issue. I am using the dishwasher now again with no problem. 3. I determined with Thomas' help that the washing machine had a major problem and could have spun out of control into my wall....no question, it was time to get a new washing machine! This was a well spent $40.00--I even got Thomas advice on purchasing a new washing machine and what to look for. 4. I checked the drainage on my kitchen sink and learned how to empty out the "trap" and that most likely, I am okay, but what to swap out if I have continuing issues with slow drainage. I do require a deposit for materials upon signing a contract and the payments go on a percentage of work completed basis. Ask about Angie's List discount. We will also do some payment plans after contract and deposit payment plans are LABOR only all material must be paid in full
"DO NOT USE** this guy Floyd stole money from us. Destroyed our house with his terrible craftsmanship skills. We had to fire him. We asked for a partial refund (which he agreed to) and yet 1 month later have yet to see it. He is not licensed / insured/ or bonded. (Don't believe me? Ask him to send it to you). I would stay far away from this guy--- read the review below and any other reviews about A-1 Renovations- they all say the same thing. This guy is a scam artist. We had to spend more money fixing his mistakes. He will trick you. STAY AWAY. Not a licensed plumber or electrician either. DO NOT HIRE! You've been warned."
