"Our experience with their tech was not pleasant. The tech arrived to diagnose a roof leak but he had no ladder to get on the roof. He borrowed ours. After looking in the attic and on the roof, he told us he didn't think we had a leak and what I heard was likely hail hitting the chimney cap and left. While we had intermittent pea-sized hail during the storm that started the leak, this seemed to be a low probability and highly unlikely. We went to Lowes and bought a moisture meter, not believing him, and verified we had a leak. Husband found the leak exactly where we had directed him to look, so they came back. Then the tech described the work he would do to fix the leak. He said wind was likely pushing in rain into the side seams of the chimney and/or around the base. We were led to believe extensive caulking work would be done to seal cracks around our fireplace base, up the side seams, and seal nail heads for the price agreed upon. The leak persists. We called our fireplace cleaning company and they said the side seams weren't caulked, as we expected, but some caulking had occurred. They were confused as to why not all seams were caulked if it was a rain driven issue. The chimney company is replacing our cap since it was dented in, but they confirmed for us only a portion of what we paid to be caulked was done by F5's tech. We spoke to the owner and he asked what did I want him to do? He claims it's a "he said/she said" and that he would speak to his tech about his communication skills. What his tech told him does not match what we were told on work to be performed. And the amount of glued down shingles went from the tech telling us personally that he did a few shingles as a non-charged add-on to telling his boss he did 100 linear feet and that the work was a part of the original description of work. His story changed when we called to protest that the work we had been told would be done was not done. I personally think Mike and Karen are nice, but their employee has much room for improvement and isn't being honest. And if they're not willing to believe the homeowner then this puts others at risk. They came highly recommended, so, this may be isolated, but be careful. Have their tech detail in writing everything they plan to do. Their vague description should not be accepted. A sketch might help. This will ensure you get what you agree on and there's no he-said, she-said where the customer loses $800 and all faith in the company."

"Make sure you have found the best price on the competed work to be preformed. You can buy the same material on Amazon Prime 1000 sq. ft. for $118.00 free shipping. I had to order more to fix their sloppy work. Once you sign the "contract" you have three days to cancel. If you find a better price on financing or anything else it's too late to stop them from getting their payment after that date. I found another company to do it for $ 500 bucks cheaper. I was told that I would not get the solar attic fan in that better price. The sales person said what American Quality Exteriors didn't tell you about that solar fan is that it doesn't move enough CFM of air flow to make any difference in the attic temperature and that it might cause a leak in my roof latter down the road. I looked at the water heater blanket and you can buy one yourself for $30 bucks. I purchased the Green Energy Barrier. That was included in my "contract" with American Quality Exteriors for $6000. This company will file a lien or judgment against your property if you change your mind after the third day. They will take you to court for work not even started or done on your home. One final thing about their financing company Foundation Finance located in Wisconsin. look to your own backyard for local Oklahoma financing like Tinker Federal Credit Union. I was able to get 8.9 APR instead of some company out of state at 11.9 APR. The job was started on 03/12/2018. I posted as many pictures as I could to show you the quality of workmanship. As you can see there are many open spots on the attic floor than have not been covered. The sales person Travis said the installation people would staple the Green Energy Barrier to the parameter wood trusses. The pictures show you they did not. It was a sloppy install. They didn't use HVAC duct tape to seal the two pieces of material together as it comes in rolls only so wide. The open areas allow the heat or A.C. to penetrate the barrier thus rendering it useless. There are many areas in my attic that are left with just insulation showing are in need of patchwork material to be stapled or duct taped in. The Tape they used is shipping tape. Some is already started to fall off. The owner will say "well you the customer signed off as finished". That's ok I'm not going to make a 60 year old man with very noticeable arthritis in his hands using a hand staple gun to do any more work. Anyway he said his leg was stiff from walking in the rafters. The installers name is Art. He told me that he had been doing construction for 40 years. He had the zipper heat barrier entrance zipped up and said "it's done." I didn't want to crawl behind flex duct and on rafters to check someone else's work, someone who said he had build houses in Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma years ago. I did unzip the door and looked from afar. It seemed ok from the top of the stairs. I did not take a closer, more detailed look until he left. I have started to pull back his work and I'm going to redo it the way it was supposed to be done! $6000 scam"

Yes, you can paint your metal awning using oil-based paints to give it a fresh new look and protect it from corrosion. Oil-based paints are durable and help preserve the awning's structural integrity. Keep in mind that painting an aluminum awning costs $2.50 to $3.50 per square foot. Be sure to hire a painter who specializes in awning painting to get the best results.
Metal awnings are incredibly durable and offer excellent protection against the elements for your home. They resist sun, rain, and snow, keeping your space safe and comfortable. Stainless steel and copper awnings provide outstanding longevity and structural integrity, while aluminum awnings are more affordable without sacrificing performance. Plus, their sturdy construction can improve energy efficiency and boost your home's curb appeal.
While metal awnings are durable, they can be more expensive than other types, so they might not be ideal if you're on a tight budget. They also offer fewer customization options compared to fabric awnings, so you might have limited choices in style or color. Additionally, metal awnings are fixed in place and harder to adjust, so you won't be able to raise or lower them easily based on the weather.
Yes, metal awnings can increase your home's value by enhancing its curb appeal and providing more usable outdoor space. Their sturdy design not only improves the look of your home but can also contribute to energy savings. If you opt for motorized awnings, they add a touch of sophistication that can be especially appealing to potential buyers when you're ready to sell.
Metal awnings can last 20 to 30 years with proper maintenance. To keep them in good shape, regularly clean them with a vinegar and water solution a few times each season to prevent buildup and corrosion. If your awning has electronic components, be sure to service them routinely. Taking care of any damage promptly will help your awning perform its best and extend its lifespan.
