"Our job was in Washington, DC to evaluate and repair a metal and shingle roof on one property that were allowing moisture stains inside. From the first phone call to Mr. Jim August, father, the customer service was exemplary, friendly, efficient, and informative. The appointment was set for the same day. We received before work site pictures, repair estimates with options and explanations immediately. We scheduled the work for the next day; it was completed totally and excellently that same day. The work required repair and coating metal roof, skylight, new gutters, downspouts and replacing fascia board. We received from son George August 14 after work pictures of various angles to see all completed work. The warranty was great. The project end conversation and payment process were informative and just as agreed. This is a family business. Five stars in all categories. "Their was a slight hiccup in the pricing and after my check was cashed, Tom the owner called me saying he wanted to cancel the order and give me my 1/3 deposit back of $1,800.  I was devastated because I already had a previous door installed improperly and that had failed in less then one year. This was extremely traumatic after several weeks and a cashed check to hear that the owner wanted to cancel my order.  To make a long story short he thought about it....he called me back and decided to move forward with the order. The installation went flawlessly.  Very professional crew, love my new door.  Comes with excellent warranty.  My advice stay as far away from fiberglass as you can!!! Way too much flex in the door.  I did steel door  with wood grain look painted black at the factory.. Just remember "the cheap becomes expensive". Steel is the only and best way to go and slightly less expensive then fiberglass.  The most important aspect of door and window replacement for that matter is the installation! The people that install for Hammer and Nail only work for them. Even if I could find cheaper its not worth it. Installation is and should be your number one concern.  If you want reliability, honesty and integrity you must choose HAMMER and NAIL.

This could have been even quicker, but I encouraged George to take his time! "It took much longer than expected, part of this was due to inclement weather & 2 ft of snow. When installer came he noted that porch was not secure enough to place sunroom on.  Owner of company came out to inspect while shoring up was being done.TRS shored up porch. Installer knowledgable and helpful. During demoing & building of stairs, they tripped power to house 3 times, finally they took out old outlet from old porch and used other outside outlet.
Projected time to start was 11/14/15 & finish 12/14/15, was not started until mid Dec., and finished 2/25/16.  County did not issue permit until Dec. TRS might be a little more realistic about construction times. Built sturdy steps & landing and put in all new electric to sunroom. A few knobs for windows missing which they had to reorder and one screen not set in properly and bugs got in, and cover plate to electric box with wiring to porch was not put on. They did fix after a few calls. 
When dumpster removed from driveway, it knocked my A/C unit off its base, unit needs to be repositioned we are waiting to see what that will cost. 
TRS did send out a quality review staffer to go over the whole project when finished, which is rare, so it appears that they really want client feedback.
