"QRS did an excellent job on my roof. Matt Terry is the best. He came to my door and said I needed new roof and that he could help me get it done. So I took the chance and trusted him and he was wonderful. He did all the work with State Farm and I just sat back. I got full replacement on roof, gutters and screens and Matt made that happen. All this was done just before Christmas, so I can relax and enjoy the holidays. Thanks again Matt and QRS.."

"A Step Above Roofing Jesse is the roofer/contractor everyone needs when working with an insurance company. He knew exactly what documents they needed to move the claim forward. Our contractor Jesse Bacon made sure all damages from the hail storm was covered by the insurance company. I now have a beautiful inside the home ceiling replacement, outside AC replacement and beautiful roof and gutters replacement. BEAUTIFUL work, Highly recommend!! Gary R"

"<p>The roofing job went well, but some damage occurred unrelated to the roofing process.  I had to deal with a few different people to get it resolved, but it was fixed to my satisfaction.</p> <p>My only other complaint is that, despite their cleanup sweep, we found hundreds of nails around the property.  These were not just used nails from the roof, but large piles of new nails and even a half-full box of nails sitting behind my retaining wall and many on my gravel driveway where their trucks were parked.  A few flat tires later, I think we've found them all.</p> <p>Overall, the quality is good and the job was done quickly and on time.</p> <br />"

"We used them for all my mom’s hail and wind damage. They replaced the house roof, the roof on dad’s hobby house, two doors, the siding, and some other damaged things. They were punctual and very polite and nice to my elderly mother. Dwayne Lockwood was very responsive when I would text with a question. They went above and beyond in fixing her roof etc. I highly recommend them and my mom has already asked them to fix a few other items for her in the future."

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"Despite the volume of damaged homes, I had a detailed estimate from David at All Pro two days after I called for an appointment. Within three weeks I had a new roof. They did everything from insurance paperwork to completion inspection quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend All Pro for a quality, trouble free roof replacement."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Lawton, OK

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
