"Responded quickly to come out and repair and seal our wind damage from the storms. Franscico let us know there was another area of concern by our chimney and repaired that also! Took under an hour and provided us with before and after photos (because we’re not going up there)! Professional, fast and competitive prices. We’ll definitely be calling on Best Roofing KC for future repairs and when we need to replace our roof!"

"Can and inspected the roof. Identified leak was coming from window and provided a reference to someone to fix as that was not their specialty. Very professional, on time and best is they did it as a free service. Cannot recommend the company enough. They built my trust and will be our go to roofing company moving forward."

"Zucca's bid was by far the best price vs. two other highly rated roofing companies on Angie's List. It took several months to get scheduled, and the roofing project took approximately 5 days from start to finish. Unfortunately, there was a powerful rain storm during the project that caused some damage to the interior of the property. Zucca handled the situation professionally; however, the interior subcontractor took longer than expected and did not do a thorough job cleaning up. Despite the issue with the interior, I am satisfied with Zucca's work and the manner that they resolved the issue caused by the storm. I would recommend them to others."

"The roof on our home had been installed by Ramirez Roofing before we moved in, and the roof had a limited lifetime warranty. We needed a roof vent installed for our remodeled master bath, and we contacted Ramirez to see if they could take care of this for us. Not only was Carol amazingly responsive, but they performed the project for free. We were told that if we had someone else install the roof vent, it would void our warranty—something we hadn't even considered! The whole thing seemed too good to be true, but sure enough, someone came over within a matter of days and took care of the vent at no charge. We had the vent itself installed already...just handed the roof vent kit to Porfirio, told him where we wanted the vent hole, and he went to work. He was done in less than an hour. Ramirez Roofing is clearly a business run by professional, honest, hard working people. Would definitely hire them again if needed!"

"<p>We had some high winds/tornado that had shingles off of my roof laying all around in my front and back yard.  After a few days of rain I saw leaking in my garage and signs of leaking in the bedroom that's connected to the garage and in the same area where the leaking was in the garage.  I called Chris because he had done some work for me before and I was very please with him and the outcome of that job.  He came out the same day I called him and did a walk around the house.  He took pictures of the roof and showed me what damage I had and how much it was going to cost me.  Chris and his son Mike arrived a little before 9:00AM this morning, 12/7/15.  They were done by early afternoon about 2:00PM.  They did some extra things for me too.  I really appreciated that.  I had a hole in my roof that some critters had eaten in it and I wasn't even aware of that and my garage door was cracking in one of the corners.  He repaired all of that for me.  My roof looks brand new.  They also cleaned my gutter and downspouts and installed gutter guards.  I have some siding and paint work that needs to be done and Chris and Mike are definitely going to be the ones to handle that for me.  These guys are great.  They are reasonable and very dependable.  Excellent customer service.  I would recommend them to anyone anytime.  Thank you Chris and Mike.</p>"

"I had Premier come out to replace my composite over shake roof and my gazebo roof. I had insurance to cover the cost. The good: Great quality No complaints for my house. No problems with insurance, Premier took care of it $250 referral reward thanks to Patrick The bad: Had to deal with not know when people came When the came they would leave without me inspecting to work They treated Patrick like a mule. No medical leave. Process started in June and lasted to October Offer $200 of a $15,000 bill (1.33% discount) Premier Problems Before anything happened I had to ask them to erase the chalk they had used to mark damage. First time the roofers came they didn’t know that my roof was composite. They had to return the next day. They left lots of wood in my attic. I had to demand someone to clean it up. They did assign a guy who did a good job. They replaced the gutter covers, but didn’t replace them all (said they were broken with no evidence). Strips did not completely cover the gazebo. One corner was not glued properly. The top of the gazebo lacked the metal around it They came and added the metal top without contacting me They came once to fix the strips and didn’t have any strips. They came a second time with new strips, but left one length of original strip They came by a third time and replaced the last strip and added more tar to the top. Even though the metal casing is not uniform around the top, the tar made it less obvious. There was one tile I had complained about, and finally Patrick climbed the ladder and finished it off. Also discovered late was the brick had been damaged while they did the roof (I think). There are still indentations on the brick and pavement. There is still chalk on my 2nd floor windows, but someone is coming out."

"Eric was fantastic to work with-very professional, responded quickly to any and all questions, made sure we were satisfied with the results. He worked with us and our insurance company from start to finish. His crew worked tirelessly and got our roof done in a day-including clean-up. Eric came the next day to make sure all had been done and cleaned up to our satisfaction. "

"Scheduling was very simple and easy. Worker showed up between the scheduled time. It was a cold damp day. He blew out gutters and flushed the upper gutters. One of our upper gutters was clogged and the debris was left at the end of the gutter. Simple enough to pick up and through away, but not something I thought we'd have to do after paying for gutter cleaning services. We got snow a couple days after having the gutters cleaned and low and behold once everything melted and came down through the gutters we had a big pile of leaves that washed down with the melting ice and snow on our front section of gutters (not the clogged one - or so we thought!). So obviously the gutters were not cleaned out thoroughly. We will see how everything seems to flow now that spring rains are here."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Lexington, MO

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
