"Jackson contracting was thorough in their explanation to me of the scope of the work required and the problems with my roof. I had several contractors try to fix the leak, but none were successful. After my new roof, there was a small problem, but they fixed it with no questions asked and no hassles. They even checked back with me to make sure that everything was going well. "They were excellent. They arrived early in the morning, tore off the old roof, made repairs to some of the boards on the roof and did excellent prep for the shingles. They had five or six men working, who were all considerate, and a couple of them continued to clean up between different stages of the job. "Scott, the owner, answered my request promptly for a quote and evaluation.  He was quick, efficient, and fair.  I chose him over other companies because of his approach to me and because he answered all my questions.  There were no surprises.  The day of the work -- and it took but one day even on a large, high-pitched roof-- his crew arrived promptly.  They did all they could to protect my plants (and I have lots of them).  The crew worked all day in to early evening to complete all the work.  Before they left they meticulously cleaned up every scrap from all sides of the house.  They cleaned all the gutters.  I had selected an upgraded shingle.  The finished work is beautiful.  There was a minor problem with a long section of gutter.  I called Old Fort and Scott himself came out to look at the issue.  He told me a well-known gutter company would be contacting me immediately to replace the whole section. No questions or quibbling.  It was replaced within 48 hours.  I even got a follow-up from Old Fort asking me if I were completely satisfied with the gutter replacement. I am so pleased with Scott, Alex his assistant, and the crew that I have sung their praises.  I manage to bring up my new roof in all kinds of conversations.  I can't recommend Old Fort Roofing enough."

"we had asked that work not be done the week before our daughter's college graduation.  They called the weekend before and said a rooking crew was available and could do the work on Monday if we wanted to go ahead.  we said OK.  then it rained and they worked on Tuesday and then into Wednesday to finish.  the roofing crews did not always dump debris onto tarps, did not properly address an issue at the chimney leaving a gap above the facia (even though I had pointed out this condition during a walk thru for the bid), and, in my opinion, bent the gutters in two places.  When they fixed the roof at the chimney, they said they must have had some bad caulking because the first hot day after it ran down the side of the chimney in a black gooey mess.  They then had to come back again and clean the chimney and re-fix the problem. <br /> The guy installing the bathroom vent duct  through the attic installed the wye backwards. <br /> The siding crew replaced the moldy HardiPlank and trim.  They pointed out several other bad soffit locations that were not in the original scope and those were fixed by change order.  I had to have them come back and fix several sloppy joint locations, caulk places that had missed and fix other locations where the HardiPlank was installed against roofing but had not yet begun to deteriorate.  During the work on first return they tore a hole in the bedroom screen and we had to have them come back and take the screen off and have it replaced.  In general, their attention to detail and level of craftsmanship was not nearly as good as the work they had done in 2004.  They did eventually fix everything we asked for.  Next time I will look for someone better. <br />"

We soon had a clearly written bid that came in lower than the competitors and they promptly got the job done for us. We soon had a great new roof, gutters with leaf protection and 2 sun tunnel skylights in our bathrooms. They also installed extra insulation in our attic.
