"I highly recommend Nate's Painting Services. Nate advertises that there will be no BS, and it is true. Nate and his team do quality work. They show up when they say they will be there. Communication is great. You will never wait very long for a response. Costs for their services are very reasonable. Specific requests are accommodated. We have an old house with lots of detailing and everything was preserved and accented. If you are looking for interior and/or exterior painting work go with Nate."

I have worked in the trades for almost 40 years and am currently renovating my 3rd 100 year old home in the greater Portland area.\nAfter that many homes and countless other projects over the years, i have become proficient and confident in almost every aspect of home building, renovating, and remodeling.\nBig or small, my attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly with my clients has allowed me to keep a steady workload based almost entirely on repeat calls.\nThat said, i am always excited to meet new challenges, learn new skills, and add more happy customers to my base.

"This is the 5th time that we have hired Victoria to work on our home. She has painted the exterior of the house, the popcorn ceilings throughout the house, the entire interior first floor trim and doors (from 70's "oak" stain to current white) and she has painted the dining/kitchen area. Victoria worked with us as I changed my mind on paint colors, and she made suggestions that helped save us money on extra gallons of paint. Since Victoria had done work for us on four different occasions we were very comfortable communicating via e-mail. She sent us an invoice from "Peace Lady Painting" listing cost of labor, plus paint. This quote was honored. We did move a lot of heavier bookcases/bureaus etc, we also removed wall decor as well as the extras so that she could simply paint. Since Victoria knew that we would be away while the work was being done, she stopped by the house on the Friday before she was supposed to start. She brought her tarps, drop cloths, paint and ladders etc. and spoke with us to be certain that she was clear on everything that we wanted. Victoria repaired nail holes (craters, in some places) and sanded and primed. Her painting left no drip marks, no spatters and was beautifully done. When we came home from our trip our house was finished. There was no paint clean up that we had to do and Victoria had put some of the bigger pieces of furniture back in place. She also "staged" a few of my plants and knick knacks, which was fun to see. Victoria went above and beyond the contract as she touched up some water stains on the high ceiling of the entry way and "dings" on the wood work in the other rooms that she had worked on. That was a very pleasant surprise. We have been very pleased with all of the work that Victoria has done for us and I am certain that we will again be giving her a call in the near future."

"Darin was very prompt to call me back on initial call. He made a day to stop in and check out what was needed to be done and give me an estimate. He arrived on time the day of the work and worked continuously until it was all done. I had not had it done in 7 years and we have many pine trees all around, so the siding/ trim were pure black in many places. Could not believe how beautiful it all came out--it looks like a brand new house/garage. Darin is very professional and just a nice man--hope to be able to have him back next year. Defintely would recommend him. Great job ,Darin thanks so much. <br />"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Limington, ME

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
