Professional Lawn and Tree, is a family-owned, fully-insured business that strives to give family-type care to you. We are a cut above the rest!
"I had a 60' tree limb hanging over a shed that needed taken off the main tree. Paul (owner) left a quote at the duplex. He was pushy & gave me a story or two. His quote for the tree to be taken down & away, a few dead branches removed & some brush was reasonable. The crew showed up, promised 100% clean up! The tree removal was great. Had to ask a few times to cut the trunk a certain way, finally got it done! No one cleaned up the 2 " of saw dust or the ruts in the yard from the large machine used to pick up the logs in the yard! No one put the stepping stones back in place or fixed the underground drains they smashed. No communication between the crew & myself. I turned around & everyone was Gone! ( To lunch?) The logs were left in the front yard, the machine broke down & they left! A guy came later to fix the machine & after the job was done, they left it parked in front of my rental property all weekend! I had to ask for a receipt. I wouldn't recommend this company!"

"A large cottonwood tree had fallen between our yard and the neighbors. Our neighbor had used this service before and they responded quickly to his inquiry. Several services that we had used previously failed to respond even over a week later. KC tree services did such a fine job with removing the cottonwood that we inquired about them also trimming three large walnuts in our backyard that we had been looking to have trimmed. Initially they were going to come back later in the week but instead they were able to extend their day and finish that up also the same day. They did a great job of trimming the tees by taking the the weight off certain areas and removing dead branches. They were interactive with us when trimming to ensure that they met our goals and cleaned up well afterwards. Since we have had much trimming and trees taken down over the years we knew they were price competitive and did good work. We highly recommend their services."

"The owner, Carlos, and his wife Dixie and crew arrived promptly at 8:00 am. They came well equipped with a new bucket truck, shredder truck, and a self-propelled stump grinder and a tracked mini grabber. In just under 3 hours they removed one large tree and 13 mature Japanese Yews. The tracked mini-grabber was excellent at pulling up the shrub roots and all. They also heavily pruned 5 other large shade trees. When completed, they picked up and raked all debris and used a blower to leave the premises in better shape than when they arrived. They could not have been nicer and more obliging to work with, and their price was more than reasonable for the work performed. They also came with the best equipment of any tree trimmer I have ever seen. By 11:00 am they were off to their next job of the day. Never hired a better, more organized, and friendly contractor. Will rehire and recommend to everyone I know."

You might remove a tree for free if it’s small, easy to reach, and your city doesn’t require a permit. Call the planning or public works office first to be sure. If they give you the green light, follow all safety rules, wear protective gear, and ask a friend to spot you. When in doubt—or if the tree is tall—hire a pro instead.
In many cities, you’ll need a permit—sometimes even an arborist’s report—before cutting down a tree. Start by calling your local building or planning department. They’ll tell you whether the tree is protected, how big it can be before a permit kicks in, and whether the work has to be done by a licensed pro. Get written approval before scheduling the job to stay on the right side of local rules.
It’s best to leave healthy trees alone—they add shade, boost curb appeal, and support wildlife. Take one down only if it’s dead, diseased beyond saving, or posing a real safety risk. Check local rules first; many areas protect heritage or street trees.
When removal seems necessary, bring in a licensed arborist for an on-site assessment and written recommendation before you book the crew.
If you’re torn between trimming, pruning, or full removal, start with an honest health check. Trim to shape the canopy or encourage new growth. Prune when you spot broken or diseased branches that could spread trouble.
Plan on removal only if the trunk is hollow, several major limbs are dead, storm damage is extensive, or the tree leans dangerously toward a structure.
A tree that’s 15 to 20 feet from your home isn’t automatically a problem. Healthy, small species often coexist just fine with houses. Trouble starts when the trunk shows decay, roots crack the foundation, or overhanging branches threaten the roof. Bring in a licensed arborist for a close look and written recommendation before you decide to remove or simply prune.
Timing hinges on size and complexity. A small tree might be gone in a few hours, a mid-sized one in half a day, and a giant could keep the crew busy for one to two full workdays. Add extra time if you’re grinding the stump, hauling wood, or navigating tight spaces near power lines or fences.
