Customers say: Super punctual

"The initial job was done extremely well. However, the service just "decided" afterwards that I needed a weekly mowing, even though that was not discussed and no contracts were signed. The mowing was at a fair price, but I did not want to pay it weekly, so I called and asked them to stop. They came out and mowed once more, and then stopped. So the problem I had with them was communication/responsiveness; otherwise, they were fine."

"Very trustworthy. I have had Ricky's Lawn service for 5+ years. They are awesome. Their work is excellent! I love how they edge my sidewalks and curbs. They are extremely clean, clean, clean! They come in do the job and never leave any debris! I have used their service to remove trees, install a post for my mailbox and other odd jobs things I needed around my yard. Excellent service A+ A+."

"Ricky and his team did a fantastic job cleaning up our lawn and flower beds. They worked efficiently and showed a lot of attention to detail. They went above and beyond by cleaning up other areas and planting a few shrubs as well. Communication was perfect, so we always knew the current status and next steps."

"ImageWorks did a fantastic job of fixing a water drainage problem in my backyard this past summer. I appreciate the quality of work delivered and the teamâ s professionalism. It is worth taking a moment to note that I received a few other proposals outlining a significantly larger scope of work to correct a water drainage problem that was causing my basement to flood. These other work proposals entailed extensive (and expensive) patio redesign and infrastructure work. I initially challenged the ImageWorks proposal, suggesting that the smaller project scope might not prevent future flooding. However, John with ImageWorks provided me with a detailed explanation of why his work proposal, priced at less than half the cost of the others, would effectively redirect water away from the house. A few heavy rains have demonstrated that Johnâ s design was absolutely correct. In addition, when the crew that performed the work in the backyard recognized that one step listed in the work proposal was not necessary, they took the initiative to inform John. This resulted in an $800 savings on the project. The crew was very friendly and left the project site tidy. I would recommend ImageWorks for the quality of their work, professional service, and integrity. -Geoff (Fairfax)"

Small jobs welcome

"I got this Pro for my elderly disabled landlord. I live on his property and he needed lawn care but had gotten it done before Second Glance came out to give him a quote. It was a huge mess. Second Glance was very responsive and nice to me since I was the one looking and came out and my landlord hired them for monthly lawn care and then leaf removal later in the year. I've recommended a neighbor for leaf removal for a quote as well."

"Robert and his group have been caring for my lawn, shrubs, and landscaping for many years. I am very satisfied with their outcome. Their prices are very reasonable. In addition to this, he has also done special projects for me, such as building a gravel pathway in my backyard and did an excellent job, he prunes all my bushes, aerates my lawn soil, puts down fertilizer. He's been working for me for 4 years and he has transformed my yard into a neighbourhood showpiece... I get so many compliments from neighbours regarding the current state of my yard, compared to what it was all those years ago when I first moved in!"

FAQs for lawn care maintenance and mowing projects in Lorton, VA

Hiring a professional saves you time and can actually save you money in the long run. Without regular care, your lawn might develop problems like thatch buildup, diseases, or pests, which can be expensive to fix. A pro keeps your lawn healthy, so you can enjoy it without the hassle.

Mowing your lawn yourself is generally cheaper than paying someone to do it. While a lawn mower can cost between $80 and $2,500 depending on the type, professional mowing services charge between $30 and $80 per visit. Investing in your own mower means that over time, you can save money by handling the mowing yourself, especially if you maintain your lawn regularly.

While the wording may vary from company to company, lawn maintenance typically includes all the services that keep your current healthy lawn looking sharp. Think mowing, watering, weeding, and a spring or fall cleanup.

Lawn care digs a bit deeper. These packages may include services that elevate your lawn's health or address an issue throughout the year. Fertilization, pest and weed control, and dethatching all fall into this category.

There is no set-in-stone schedule for mowing your lawn, as each grass variety grows at a different rate depending on the season. Once you determine the type of grass in your lawn and its ideal height, aim to remove no more than the top third of the blade at a time to retain its healthy structure.

In the high growing season, this will likely break down to about once a week, which is why lawn care specialists often offer weekly plans.

Don’t mow your grass if it hasn’t grown more than one-third of its height since you last cut it. For example, if you want grass no more than 2 inches, don’t mow it until it’s 3 inches. Don’t cut your grass when wet, as it clumps together and places more stress on your mower’s blades and makes it harder for the sun to reach the turf. This can lead to mold or disease. Conversely, don’t mow when it’s too dry. But, if you do, be sure to raise your mower’s deck height by about half an inch to encourage slower growth.

Yes, landscaping can significantly add value to your home. High-quality landscape design offers a return on investment of 20% to 30%. A well-maintained lawn and attractive outdoor spaces enhance your property's curb appeal and market value, making it more appealing to potential buyers when you decide to sell.
