"I asked Angel to undertake an urgent wall repair job, to "try to fit my job in." I had water damage which displaced the apartment's occupant. Angel's schedule was already full. While being very upfront, he kept me informed, never misled, and in a few days he found a way . His employee Claudio was very professional as he performed the work , completing it in a couple days, worked quickly while being very clean & considerate of the lady occupant as he worked. I could not be more pleased with a contractor than I am with Angel & Claudio of ZZEO."

"The odds were against A+ Professional Painting Services when Derek DeVivo showed up to our house to quote the work that we needed done.  After getting burned by a painting service that we believed was capable of doing the job in the first place we questioned our ability to make decisions and were skeptical of every contractor that came to quote the work we needed to get our house back in shape.  Furthermore, whomever was awarded our job was doomed to work ?under a microscope? ? our reaction to the circumstances that got us into the position we were already in. It?s not easy for a contractor to work for detail oriented people and having to work for detail oriented people who?ve been burned is about as hard as it gets.  <br /> When he arrived to estimate our job Derek carefully looked over every room and listened while we strayed into angry conversation about what the other painter did to our house.  He was sympathetic and professional in his approach and that immediately won us over.  In fact, after meeting with him we were so confident that he would rescue us from the mess we were in that we had mentally hired him, so it was a very long week for us while we waited for his quote.  While we waited we worried that Derek?s quote would be too high or that he?d decide to pass on our job.  After all, Derek is smart, perceptive, and has a good business sense (we saw that in him the day he came out to estimate our job).  Why would he, or any other thriving painting contractor take a job in which the homeowner is likely going to be questioning everything he did, watching over his shoulder every step of the way? <br /> While we don?t know exactly what compelled Derek to take our job, we do know that he didn?t back down from the challenge and we?re forever grateful for that. <br /> Derek and Brad showed up on the agreed upon date, on time, and ready to work.  The job consisted of repairing damage to the walls caused by wallpaper removal (quite a bit of it), significant damage to the walls/ceilings caused by the previous contractor?s attempts to repair them, skim coating, patching, prepping moldings for paint, and painting ceilings, trim, and doors in approximately 2/3 of our house.  They were organized and systematic in their approach to the job and took measures to protect our floors and furniture.  While you might expect these things from a painting contractor I can tell you from firsthand experience that these are not things to take for granted.  <em><strong>Derek and Brad were able to do what a team of five painters couldn?t do before them AND without making a mess or leaving one thing out of place when they were done!</strong></em> <br /> Both men worked together on small sections of our house at a time so as to minimize the inconvenience to us.  They asked where they could stage their equipment each time they moved to a different section of the house and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. On a day that we were home while they were working we didn?t hear a radio blaring throughout the house, didn?t hear offensive language from them, and didn?t witness them leaving our house to go to another job or out on <br /> estimates.  We just listened as they worked cooperatively, focused on the task at hand and answered any questions they had along the way.  It was <strong>EXACTLY</strong> the kind of experience you expect to have when you hire someone to work in your home. <br />  As you might have guessed we went over their work with a fine tooth comb every night after they were done.   What we learned while doing this was that Derek and Brad had a great eye for detail and were making strides in fixing the mess that was left for them.  Still, just by the sheer scope of what there was to do, there were things that they either hadn?t noticed or hadn?t gotten to that we wanted brought to their attention.  And although we had every right as paying customers to bring these things up we were nervous that we would say too much or push too far and that Derek and Brad would leave our job undone <br /> like the previous contractor had.  Nonetheless (almost) every day (again, because of the sheer number of repairs that needed to be made) we presented Derek with a list of things that we wanted to see addressed.     <br /> And every day Derek and Brad took care of these things and then some without complaint.  They just stepped up and did the work.  A lesser person might have taken these lists as criticism of his work but Derek knew better than that, and if he didn?t, he certainly conducted himself in a manner that indicated otherwise.  A true professional through-and-through. <br />        <br /> If you are looking for a painting company that is professional, courteous, respectful and trustworthy you?ve found them in <br /> <ul> <li></li> <li>A+ Professional Painting Services.  </li> <li>       </li> <li>If you are looking for a painting company that values their business and their customer?s satisfaction then</li> <li>A+ Professional Painting Services is for you.</li> <li>       </li> <li>If you are looking for a painting company that takes pride in the work that they do there is none better than </li> <li>A+ Professional Painting Services.</li> <li>       </li> <li>If you are looking for a painting company that will give you a competitive and fair quote and then will deliver 110% of what they quoted you then look no further than A+ Professional Painting Services.</li> <li></li> </ul> <br /> In nearly 20 years of home ownership I have interviewed more than a dozen painting contractors and hired three.  A+ Professional Painting Services is the only company  that I will have back again. Given his excellent business sense I expect to be able work with Derek DeVivo and A+ Professional Painting Services for many years to come . . . and I look forward to it. <br />"

"Pete and his team were very professional throughout our kitchen remodeling project. Pete helped us pick out the cabinets, countertop, fixtures, flooring, and tile, and he made sure everything stayed within budget. He was accommodating to all our requests and concerns. Pete and his team arrived promptly every day of reno work, cleaned up all debris, and protected my house's furniture and new appliances from damage. Most importantly, he was always accessible, answering EVERY email, phone call, and text almost immediately. Renovation projects are stressful enough (we knocked down a wall into the dining room, resized a window and completed it with matching exterior vinyl siding and capping, replaced the floor and subfloor in 2 rooms, cut new trim, repaired drywall, changed the color and decor, added new plumbing, electricity and lights, and increased 7 feet of cabinet/countertop/backsplash space to 18 feet!), but Pete and the crew did their best to alleviate all our stress. The kitchen was totally transformed, and we and all our friends and family love the results. Very satisfied!"

FAQs for wood stairs and railings repair projects in Margate City, NJ

Hiring a pro to refinish wooden stairs means labor makes up 20% to 30% of your total budget. That price covers sanding, staining, and sealing each step. In most cases, a certified refinisher can tackle a 10-step staircase in about two hours, then apply stain and sealant for a durable, eye-catching finish that stands up to daily traffic.

A pro can sand a standard 10-step staircase in roughly two hours, then needs another four to six hours for each coat of stain and sealant to dry. DIYers should budget up to a week for sanding, staining, and sealing in stages. With a crew on site, the bulk of the work is completed in a single day, minimizing disruptions while still achieving a high-quality finish.

It’s possible to refinish stairs without full-scale sanding by using chemical strippers, power buffers, or simply layering a fresh finish over the existing coat. Chemical strippers break down old stains and sealants, while buffers quickly shave off surface material. Even so, a quick hand-sand with fine-grit paper helps the new finish bond properly and look smooth. As always, suit up in protective gear and follow product directions to keep your wood—and yourself—safe.

For most stair projects, you’ll want two sandpaper grits. Begin with 80- to 120-grit to strip the old finish and even out rough spots, then move to 150- to 220-grit for a smooth, ready-for-stain surface. A power sander speeds up the coarse pass, but switches to hand sanding with the fine grit in corners and along edges to keep abrasion even and give stain or sealer something to grab onto.
