Customers say: Quick response

"They forgot to light part of the house per the agreed upon quote. They came out a few days later and added it but they used incandescent lights on that part instead of LED lights and they had a section that didn't work. So, we had to call again and wait a few more days to get that section changed. It is still incandescent, but at least they are all up and working now. At this price point, I expected higher attention to details."

"Absolutely the best lighting I have ever seen. The cost was completely reasonable. I have a two story home and he evenly spaced the lights. It was exactly how we discussed and he was so quick."

"The owner Kelly was very helpful with choosing flowers, arrangements and other table decorations. She worked with us to stay within our budget, was very responsive to questions and requests and flexible in meeting our needs. Her flowers and arrangements were a major part of a beautiful wedding. Overall a total pleasure to work with. <br />"

"All four outdoor lamp posts work now. When we bought the house, the seller's (a professional house flipping/restoring company) said it was going to take weeks/months to figure out how to get the outdoor lamp posts working and this was going to push back the closing date which was unacceptable to us. So, we hired Jeff Mitchell Lighting and within an hour he had the issue(s) diagnosed and had it fixed shortly after. The lights look great now. He also gave me quite a few options for various issues like what lights we can use, how to switch/control the lights, etc."

"We have a cedar house and they make little perfect holes to make their nests. ?They sprayed stuff into the holes, it takes special stuff, specifically for them. ?We are still enjoying the effects. ?When they come back in the Spring and try to buzz through the wood, if they hit the special pockets where they sprayed, it will still take care of them. We could have it done once a year, but we are still working off the initial visit. ?They will be back in the Spring buzzing around, especially around the eves of the house. ?They say they don't sting like some bees. ?The guy that did the exterminating wasn't even worried about them when he was spraying, but they will tear your house up."

"Super Dave and his crew showed up on time and made quick work of removing of a dilapidated carport from my backyard. They also added little extras that went above and beyond the contract including removing branches and leaves out of my driveway and sliding my shed over and squaring it up. Definitely would hire again."

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Maryland Heights, MO

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
