"I was leery of getting a new roof. Our house is almost a hundred years old and had asphalt shingle over the original wood shake. As Matt (owner of MAP Construction) explained to me, when you tear off a wood shake roof, you have to completely re-deck the whole thing. In our case, that would mean almost 90 sheets of plywood.
