"Jay & Janus Pest Management is fantastic!   We recently moved into our 1931 spanish style home and found we had many spiders both inside & outside the house.  We picked them based on their excellent reviews and service award on Angie's list.   <br /> Jay & Janus Pest Management have truly exceeded the excellent reviews they've received on Angie's list!   <br /> We first met Jay in July of 2011.  Like other satisfied Angie's List members, I called for a quote and was happy to receive a quick response from the owner of the company Jay himself.  Jay was very personable and made himself available to meet right away the following Saturday morning since both my husband and I work.  Jay sprayed for pests (including spiders) both inside & outside our home.  Jay also inspected our home for rodents in the attic and below the house.  Jay found and removed a very old rodent carcus on his first visit.  He also indicated possible points of entry for the attic and below the house.  Jay set traps in the attic and below the house.  On his next visit, Jay removed a recently trapped rodent from below the house.  Jay and his associate Michael continued to monitor the rodent problem weekly for the next several weeks.  They diagnosed the problem and shored up the entry points with wire screens to prevent further rodents from entering.  Michael even squeezed himself into an extremely tiny crawl space in our attic to secure one of the wire screens.  Jay & Michael were extremely personable, professional, prompt (often arriving early), efficient, honest, and responsive to our needs.  They also routinely sprayed for pests especially all the various spiders we'd been finding both inside & outside our home.  It made a huge difference in our quality of life and got rid of both the spiders and rodents invading our home.  We are extremely pleased with their service and have already highly recommended them to two of our friends.  We continue to use their services to this day to maintain pest & rodent control.  We are now using them to help trap a pesky raccoon that is tearing up our lawn.  Jay, Michael, and Janus Pest Management is an excellent company that gives fantastic service and pest control while also giving you a very personal and professional experience."

"Brad the estimator was pleasant, quick and businesslike.  We received another estimate for $5,000 (from artistic non-ISA-arborist) and a 3rd estimate for $2,150 (from non-ISA tree service).  We chose CA Arbor Care for 3 reasons: because Michael Parker, the owner, has 2 ISA arborist certifications; because Brad was certain they would use a bucket truck and the access road behind our house, and because their website was informative & intelligent. <br /> On the day of service, the tree cutters (all licensed and fully trained, BTW) had no info on the access road and they said the bucket truck was tied up on another job.  We were disappointed but gave them the go-ahead.  Good decision: the trees look beautiful and balanced.  The workers are true experts, climbed the trees with ropes, and lowered the larger/medium sized branches via ropes.  They did eventually get their chipper on the access road to reduce their effort in removing branches & to avoid the need to drag heavy wood through the backyard & around the side of the house. <br /> I**** I'd like to give them the "Page of Happiness"  award.  Did that go away from Angie's List? <br />"

"The pest control guy gave me a lot of good advice. He didn’t want to charge me anything when he came out the last time. He is a really nice guy. He said that everything that he could do and charge for could be done by me itself. So he was a really super and honest guy. He came out twice to give me advice and it was like a year apart. He still didn’t want me to give him money when he came out the second time but I made him take some money. I appreciated what he did. He spent 20 minutes looking everywhere. He told me from where he thought that the rats were getting in and also told me what to do in order to stop them. He is really a knowledgeable guy. Overall, he is the best. I am sure that his prices would be reasonable. The quality of his service was best as well. He is great. His responsiveness was fantastic since he came out like an hour or two after I called. He came out on time and he is very good too. His professionalism was excellent. Our problem was pretty small since there was just one rat but you can spend a fortune on getting rid of the rats. I would definitely use his services in the future too."

"They're the best. I kind of don't want to put this on the time because I think she's gotten a little bit on the expensive side, but she is extremely good. We take our pet to the Tarzana Pet Clinic. The veterinarian is actually Dr. Deborah Hoffman. We get food and medicine from Dr. Hoffman, she's very good preventive care. We've probably been going to Dr. Hoffman as long as we lived in the valley and that's been 30 years. We're very happy with her, and we'll continue to use her. I'm fairly liberal when someone does a good service and occasionally I come out with an ouch! Veterinary care is outstanding. It's the price you have of having dogs."

When they replaced my sprinklers they adjusted all the heads so that my trees now get maximum water distribution. I was very happy with their work and would recommend them to others as well as rehire them myself."

We needed an honest and thorough estimate of necessary repairs to justify our retention of their security deposit. There was a great deal of damage to the property, including landscaping, etc. We contacted others for full or partial estimates. Our experience with windows-only contractors was that they were essentially sales people pushing to replace window products at a very large mark up. (We knew the pricing of the windows from our own experience elsewhere). Most other contractors simply failed to provide written estimates despite our offer to pay for their estimates. <br /> Alfonso was the shining exception in our experience. He showed up on time, was thorough in his inspection, and willing to provide estimates across a broad range of work. From our experience elsewhere we found that his estimates were very affordable and in line with what we would have expected in a best case scenario. His estimates to replace windows were affordable and far less than the inflated estimates we had repeatedly received from windows-only sales people. He carefully researched his materials costs (doors, windows, landscaping materials, etc.) and provided us with the estimate in a timely fashion. We were pleased to pay him the reasonable estimate fee that he had quoted us prior to making the estimate. <br /> We would have no hesitation in using his services in the future or in recommending him to others. <br />"
