"Overall the project was fantastic, and Seth was great to work with. From taking the concept my wife had, Seth drew up a plan with everything she asked for, and we were able to scale back where needed for budgeting purposes, so he helped us rework from the original design to where we ultimately landed. Timing - he began on time, and finished early. Project lasted a total of 5 weeks. Budget - he was spot on to the original budget. We did make changes to some items, and he kept a running change list that was helpful to keep us on track. Team - The guys were amazing, and took exceptional pride in their work. I got to chat them up quite a bit, and they’ve been with Seth for many years - which was an awesome sign, because I’m guessing you don’t stay of things aren’t going well. They were here everyday from 7-3:30, and the few times that they weren’t, we had a heads up. We even got a heads up when it wouldn’t be the full crew. Communication - pretty sharp, zero complaints here. We knew what was going on, when it was happening, and Seth was here almost everyday for at least a period of time. Overall, they were great - and we will use them again for our front yard, hopefully sooner rather than later."

"My gardener replaced 3 valves and suddenly those valves could not be turned on automatically. I suspect it?s a wiring issue because the timer worked perfectly prior to this. 1) Chris came and spend 45 minutes testing, left with bare wires untouched. 2) with bare spots still on those wires, he insisted I need a new timer.3) next day he came did more tests and found timer was fine, wires needed to be tidy up. 4) wanted to replace a leaky valve but would not give me a straight price quote, saying just labor plus parts. 5) spend total 2 hour and 15 minute to finally fixed the problem. No digging no cutting just tidy up the wires and replace a valve. 6) insist to charged me 3 hour labor for 2 hour and 15 minutes work(including time wasted persuading me need a new timer), cause he needed to count in travel time (which is 4 minutes drive from me according to his business address). Total $415. I?m sad ppl don?t take pride in their work and over charge their customers. Feel taken advantage."

"Rich Durbin is a stand up guy, very professional. Came out and did the estimate on replacing my sprinkler control valves which were very old(40+). He even comes out and does most of the work himself which is a big plus in my book. He even lowered the total price on completion of the job because it was less work than originally quoted, a nice surprise for me. Over all very easy to deal with, shows up when he says he will and gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time. Highly recommended."

"What a wonderful plumber! He is competent, diligent, responsive and honest. I only wish the other contractors I have dealt with were on par with this man. I will not let anyone else do plumbing for me. And, this is probably the forth or fifth time I have used him over the years."

"Plumber that was sent said needed new valve. Came out with valve, so I thought, turns out it was actually a cartridge for the valve. Wanted to charge me for 3 hours labor. One hour was spent putting in 2 screws....Didn't fix the problem and expected to be paid 3 hours labor. This is a big rip-off. Also send apprentices to do the job. I believe in on job training, but i shouldn't be paying for it. They reduced the bill by $140, but still the problem is not resolved and I am out the time and money. I would suggest finding another plumbing company that doesn't try to run up the bill by wasting time and who know what they are doing."

"Ary reached out to me after a post I made about a not so reputable company and poor installation of a sun shade. We promptly scheduled a appointment, he showed up on time and gave us a reasonable quote. His crew showed up within a few weeks, removed the monstrosity and installed a wonderful alumawood patio cover. All in all he was prompt in his responses, honest, affordable and his crew did exactly what they said they were going to do. Highly Recommended."

"I was a customer for over three years and have a large yard. While I was away for work they ended up letting everything overgrow to the point where I had to pay a different crew thousands of dollars to fix it. I communicated my frustrations and what I expected to change and even upped the amount they were getting paid. Gave another chance. Then, my partner ended up working from home, and they noticed/found out the crew was only coming for literally 10 minutes MAX at a time for several months. I have eyewitness confirmation and documentation as well as ring camera footage. Meanwhile I was paying 150$ X2 a month for 300$ a month which is insane. I put them on notice again, gave them ANOTHER chance and even paid them to date when I truly shouldn't have. They only came for one day to make up the work. Then, the next time they came I saw myself that they were just blowing leaves around. I promptly texted Cesar that I didn' t just need leaves blown. Then when they left I looked in the bin and that's all they had done. Meanwhile, there were tons of invasive plants I had already pulled myself just sitting dry which I had asked for them to take away last time I put them on notice, and hedges were still overgrown and blocking my walkways. Cesar the owner and his company and crew are shady and unscrupulous."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Mecca, CA

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
