"While Felix was doing work for us on our home, my 95-year-old friend in uptown was trying to find someone to repair the ceiling in her bedroom in her 1890s home. Even though I had waited months for Felix to do our exterior work, he was happy to go over to her home and repair, patch, and paint the 3 to 4 foot opening in her ceiling, knowing her circumstances. In fact, one of the days that his crew went to her home, their day was essentially wasted because she could not hear them at the door. Nonetheless, he sent the fellows back the following day. They knocked out the job in three days. Felix not only has a great crew that does excellent work, but the man has heart."

"I secured 3 bids for renovations to both my primary and guest bathrooms, one of which was from One New Creation. The One New Creation bid was the lowest of the three I secured and I was admittedly nervous about how the renovations would turn out. I had just purchased my home in the Garden District and wanted both renovations to be high end and improve the value of my new home. I could not be happier with how both bathrooms turned out. Mario Saavedra provided my initial estimates and both were 100% accurate with my billing. Any additional charges I incurred were the result of my own additions and edits. Construction started and completed on time with no delays. The men assigned to work on my project were here daily with few interruptions. They worked tirelessly and their craftsmanship was perfection. Both bathroom renovations exceeded my expectations. Mario made recommendations where appropriate (tiling, light fixtures, paint options, etc.) and helped me to avoid unnecessary expenses. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of and his approach to his work was guided with honesty and setting realistic expectations about what his firm could/could not do. My overall sense is that these two bathroom renovations increased my home value by $100,000 or more - and I am thrilled to enjoy them for as long as I live in my home. I was so pleased with One New Creation/Mario that I moved forward with having my exterior home painted after seeing another painting project performed by One New Creation in the Garden District."

"SUMMARY: SES did high quality work. They stuck to the projected cost. They finished within the estimated timeframe (or at least close enough). PRELIMINARY STAGES: SES promptly returned our initial call and set up a visit by their estimator. Within a very reasonable timeframe (maybe a little more than a week), we had the estimate in hand. In contrast, we were shocked to see how difficult it was to deal with some other contractors--even in the early stage, when we were trying to give them business. DETAILS OF THE JOB: They gutted ~50% of a ~180 sq ft bathroom to the studs; did some framing/re-framing; removed a large tub and patched in some hardwood; completely re-did the mortar bed/tile/plumbing for the shower; re-routed an HVAC intake to a different part of the house; moved/added some plumbing and electrical; installed a new commode and tile floor in a new toilet closet; hung crown molding; installed a double vanity with a stone top; hung a large mirror and frameless shower door; built out 2 closets. QUALITY. Their renovation was high quality and fit perfectly into our 1930’s arts-and-crafts home. They found, sanded, and painted an old 5 panel door to match the doors in rest of the house. The salvaged/refinished pine floor fits into the existing pine floor seamlessly, and the new trim work matches that in the rest of the house. Their tile guy did an outstanding job on the shower—floor to ceiling with a bullnose and a niche. The subs they used for the vanity/stone top and for the mirror/shower door did a high quality job. We designed our closets and the trim carpenter built them out perfectly (soft-close drawers and all). COMMUNICATION. This was a big asset to the SES experience. Ashley kept us posted with an email almost every day. We knew what to expect when we got home from work, as well as what to look for the next day and the rest of the week. In the rare event that there were surprises or delays, Ashley would let us know right away as well as what the resolution would be. While Ashley was the main line of communication, the owner, Shawn, was very accessible as well when necessary. PROFESSIONALISM. All the people we interacted with were professional and punctual. The workers were respectful of us and our home, and they did a great job cleaning up every day. With very few exceptions, people were at the house every weekday (and even some weekend days), from the start to the finish of the project. THE UNEXPECTED. As the work proceeded, some minor structural damage from the old shower had to be addressed and the hot water heater needed some repairs. These were taken care off in a time- and cost-efficient manner. Otherwise, there were a few miscommunications regarding the electrical rough ins, a plumbing valve, the closet build outs, and the shower door. All these were very minor and easily addressed. Along the way—and especially as things neared the end—Shawn made sure we had everything exactly the way we wanted it. This was our first time hiring a contractor. Before our renovation, we had heard many contractor-related horror stories. Our experience with SES was drastically different. We are already scheduling another project with them."

"A tree knocked down a section of my 4’ fence and my neighbor’s chain link fence. They replaced the damaged sections and then did repairs to the rest of the wooden fence, stabilizing sections and replacing pickets. Friendly and knowledgeable."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Metairie, LA

For aluminum siding, go with a high-quality 100% acrylic exterior paint. Start with an oil-based primer to ensure the finish adheres and shields the metal from oxidation and moisture. The primer seals the surface and provides the acrylic with a surface to grip. Skip latex primers or paints—their reaction with aluminum can trap bubbles and cause early peeling.

How long will painted aluminum siding last?

A well-done paint job on aluminum siding can last around 15 years, making the upfront effort worthwhile. Longevity hinges on solid prep: thoroughly cleaning the surface to remove chalky residue, dirt, and mildew so the new paint can adhere properly. It’s also important to paint when temperatures are between 50°F and 80°F, as extreme heat or cold can affect drying and adhesion. Steer clear of rainy days—moisture under the paint weakens adhesion and speeds up peeling or fading, which can significantly shorten the lifespan of your fresh coat.

Plan on repainting when the finish starts fading or leaves a chalky, white residue on your hand. Check the siding each year; if there’s a powdery residue on your palm, it indicates oxidation is underway on your siding. A fresh coat of paint stops peeling before it starts, boosts curb appeal, and keeps the metal protected.

Spray painting aluminum siding offers significant benefits compared to other application styles. Spray painting delivers even coverage, rapid application, and enhanced adhesion compared to traditional painting methods. This technique ensures every surface is evenly coated, minimizes labor time, and provides a sleek, professional finish that withstands weather and oxidation for lasting results.

The return on investment for aluminum siding is 70%. For example, a $10,000 aluminum siding installation will add $7,000 to your home’s resale value. Regional housing markets, the quality of siding materials, and ongoing upkeep—including repainting and repairs—influence final ROI. Investing in professional installation and regular maintenance ensures you recoup a significant portion of your siding costs when it’s time to sell.

Several materials can replace aluminum siding, each offering unique trade-offs. Vinyl siding requires minimal upkeep and resists fading, lasting up to 30 years. Wood siding provides classic warmth but demands regular painting or sealing. Fiber cement and composite siding offer exceptional durability and design flexibility, requiring minimal maintenance. Brick veneer and stucco create premium, long-lasting exteriors, but they come with higher upfront costs and increased installation complexity.
