"My Smith Paving estimate was remarkably lower than my others. Ed Smith Sr., not to mention his son Ed Smith, Jr., is an old school man of deep integrity (a self described dinosaur). His grandsons, wife, and several craftsman with decades of loyal experience, and state of the art heavy duty equipment, make for the highest quality well-oiled in and out operation. Oh they know what they’re doing all right. The owners are hands on—Sr. will drive a compactor while Jr. rakes hot asphalt with his shirt off. Their work ethic is a thing of beauty. When afterward I pointed out a small area that I wished we’d approached differently, Ed Sr. eagerly insisted on returning and blended hot asphalt to suit my preference at no additional charge.
