"Franklin quickly responded to my request for a quote, gave me a reasonable estimate for the work, and he and his team did a great job. In addition to several stumps that they ground for me, they also removed several large branches that had come down in a storm, and removed some lower limbs from a tree for me. They also did a great job of cleaning up the area before leaving the site. I was very happy with their work and would contact them again for tree service in the future."

"I called him to have a look at my tree stump, so I could get an estimate. He was there on time, and not only did he give me an estimate, but he was able to grind my tree stump in less than 20 minutes. And he also did for over $150 cheaper than the cheapest estimate that I received from other stump removers. Highly recommended"

"They did a fantastic job! Great communication from beginning to end. We had them trim several tree branches off our sheds and create a canopy. They also hedged our shrubs and cut out dead branches from a smaller tree. Site was left clean and tidy."

"A few weeks ago, we had a tree that was struck by lighting and it began to die, so we had to have it cut down. I search on Home Advisor and had three people to come out and give me an estimate. Mijalisco Landscaping quoted me the most reasonable price to cut down the tree, remove the stump, and clean up, so my husband and I hired the company. First, they arrived right on time. I was impressed with their customer service as they were all very polite and courtesy. What I truly liked about them, was the fact that they worked together as a "team" and completed the task in a timely manner. Not only did they complete the task on time, but I watched them as they cut my tall tree down and they were very knowledgeable and well experienced at their job. Also what I like about them, was the fact that they did such a good job of cleaning up all the leaves and mess left from the tree. I would HIGHLY recommend Mijalisco Landscaping to anyone who needs to have their trees cut down at a reasonable price."

"Clay gave me a fair estimate, did major pruning and garden restoration, and was meticulous in cleaning up debris. I hired him again to clear trees felled by snow. Great company!"

"We hired JM Concrete to remove an old broken sidewalk and pour a new one for the entrance to our home. They did a wonderful job. They are easy to get in touch with and good at returning phone calls. They gave us an excellent price on the job. They were professional, courteous, and worked hard. We are very pleased with the finished product. I would definitely recommend this company."

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Midlothian, VA

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
