"My previous electrician left my renovation project failing to complete his commitment to our home. PowerUp electric, more specifically Lane & Levy responded to our project needs immediately. Their work ethic, commitment to satisfy their customers, and professionalism was outstanding. I am hiring them again to help us with more updates for our home."

"Rick did an excellent job I needed lights added to above a new shower and he also moved an outlet from one side of the wall to the other and added two switches to it. Also added a new outlet on another wall. Everything is working well. I would hire again, which is probably the greatest compliment I can give him."

"They did a great job for the job hired - including all the clean up. They also did a little bit more in breaking down and disposing of many other boxes. Would definitely recommend."

"Diana called me early on the morning of installation and told me Rod would be there at 2:00 pm. Rod showed up on time and did an excellent job of replacing our bathroom exhaust fan. He was courteous and friendly and explained our options. Overall, it was one of the best experiences we have had with home repair."

FAQs for generator repair projects in Moline, IL

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.

Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.

Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
