"All 7 fire detectors in home would randomly come on then turn off every hour! Even after I installed new batteries. Mr. Electric came to house and checked wires on all detectors and then found and replaced 1 bad detector. Problem solved. Great job!"

Customers say: Quality work

"When I submitted a request for people in my area through Home Advisor for some electrical work Andre was the only one that would listen to what I needed and give me a ballpark price of how much to do the work. Everyone else wanted around $90.00 just to show up and look. All I wanted to know is about how much. I knew what needed to be done and Andre worked with me. He was on time, fast, did great work, did the work for the price he quoted and was one of the nicest people to work with. If you have some electrical work and need someone to do it give Andre at Apt Electric a call. You will save a lot of time and you will not have to deal with needless BS that others are so eager to dish out."

"LJ was the standard of a professional, he came to my home and I had purchased a substandard charger, which he advised me may not be worth investing in. I purchased a Tesla Wall Charger, which he came back and installed. His work was clean, and he is the standard measure of a professional. LJ also advised me on the procedure to ask for reimbursement from Duke Energy."

"Jack and his team are incredible. There were issues with our alarm system and with our entertainment center that were head scratchers that I had tried to resolve but could not. I also needed to replace my universal remote. Jack was able to download the files I saved in my computer for my remote, convert the data into a useable format and load that into the new remote. All which saved me money. His team installed a smart tv on a bedroom wall and placed all the wiring in the wall and moved electrical behind the tv. All my issues were resolved and we are once again enjoying our home as it was intended. These are great professionals and better people!!"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Monroe, NC

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
