"I highly recommend Spencer Custom Construction. I had them do several large jobs for me this Spring of 2020 and I have not one complaint. They have very high standards and are not satisfied until everything is done properly. They are very neat and tidy and clean up every day before they leave the job. They are very pleasant and cheerful to have around. They say they do everything and I had them do everything from replacing my roof, pressure washing my house and deck, staining my deck, removing the popcorn from my ceilings and painting them, remodeling my bathroom, refinishing my wooden front door, replacing and painting metal doors, cleaning and putting mesh on my gutters, and washing my windows inside and out. Everything was done to my satisfaction and their perfection. They are located in Havelock, but they travel in all directions including Carteret and Onslow counties to work which is excellent. I live in Cape Carteret where it is difficult to get people to work as they are still busy with Hurricane repairs. Spencer Custom Construction is fair, honest and trustworthy. My favorite feature (that set them apart from the other fencing companies I visited with) was their fence gate. The gate actually rolls open/shut on a wood platform that the company installs into the ground - so practical yet so necessary to prevent the usual warp that happens with fence gates. Quality!</p> <p>Called them on Friday, had a quote by Monday, and the fence was finished by Wednesday! "I initially contacted David to get a quote and go over my different fencing options. For what I was looking for, he recommended a wooden fence. He came out and gave me a quote which was within $200 (less than) of the other two quotes I received. David said that he would be able to get it finished a few days after I received the approval from my Homeowner's Association. I received the approval about 3 weeks later, and I called him. Unfortunately, he said that he was a couple of week's behind because of the rainy weather we had. He did, however, offer to put up a temporary chain link fence so I would be able to let the dog out, which was what I was primarily concerned with. While I waited for that (we continued to get awful weather), he called me about 5-7 days later and said that he would not be doing the chain link because he could fit me in his schedule and knock out the wood fence. Yay! He was going to be out of town at the beginning of the following week, but he brought his guys over to walk the area and give them specific directions/mark the lines. On Monday, the guys showed up early in the morning and worked all day to get the posts in. The following day, they were able to complete the fence. It looks great! The material is made of good quality and all of the posts are very uniform. It is exactly where I wanted it. I did have a little interaction with the guys when I had come home during the day to receive a delivery. They were very professional and upbeat. I was impressed by both that and their efficiency. David did not ask for payment until I was completely satisfied...which is exactly what I was. I am very happy with both the company, people, and the work they did. <br />"
