"VERY PROFESSIONAL;  WE ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH BOTH THE ROOF AND THE PAINT JOB.  ALEX, THE ROOFING CREW LEADER, WAS VERY ATTENTIVE TO ALL OF MY PLANTS AND BUSHES I HAVE AROUND MY HOME.  THEY TOOK GREAT CARE AND SPECIAL ATTENTION TO ENSURE EVERYTHING WAS COVERED PROPERLY.  THE CLEAN UP DURING THE JOB AND AFTER WAS VERY GOOD.  THE ROOF LOOKS AMAZING.  THE PAINTERS WERE JUST AS ATTENTIVE TO DETAIL.  A VERY GREAT EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR ROOFING OR PAINTING WORK.  "

"I wanted a certified and experienced professional to handle my new roof installation and I found him. Mr Hamby and his roofing crew got the job done right and exceeded my expectations. All of the materials used are of a higher quality than the original roof. When the old roof was removed he also found some rotted decking because the roofers that put on the original roof did not seal up their toe board holes. He fixed the decking and I am relieved that I do not have to worry about things like that with the roof he installed! I highly recommend Mr Hamby for a roof repair or entire roof replacement."

"<hr /> I was very pleased with how thorough Yilber was. I am very happy with everything.  My house is gray and I had planned to have "safe" black roof installed.  Yilber suggested a brown roof.  I was very reluctant.  He wasn't pushy, but he assured me that I wouldn't regret the choice.  I love the brown roof!  It gives the home a rich, sophisticated look.  <br /> There was significant damage to the interior caused by the damaged roof.  You can't even tell it was repaired.  They did a really nice job matching the stencil pattern on the ceiling.  <br /> The chimney looks great too.  <br /> Given all the work that was done, the price was very reasonable. It was more than what my insurance company estimated.  But, Yilber was able to justify the work and cost to the insurance adjuster.  I would recommend this company others looking for a roofer and other contracting work."

"I had several group of people looked at my house roof and this company by far is the best of all. Gentleman called B. J. from this company is very hornets on getting the price estimated and repair work done in a trimly manner. Now after several storms the roof has absolutely no leaking and stays very tight. Very happy with the quality of the job and the quick response. Will definitely recommend this company if you need to have your roof repaired."

"We had discovered a very small leak in our MB closet and upon inspection found we had roofing issues. We had thought about patching the roof and Jerry was amicable with discussing our options and also provided a full replacement estimate. After debating with ourselves on which way to go we decided to have the entire roof replaced. Jerry's wife Pam is super to deal with and very customer oriented even though we changed our minds a couple of times during the intital "what to do" phase. Jerry and his crew showed up promptly bright and early on the day agreed upon. We have a very large roof with steep pitch and were doubtful his crew could finish the same day. They did finish the same day, cleaned up the yard, including debris and nails. The roof looks great! We have not found a single nail anywhere! I highly recommend Jerry and is company and would call them again in a second. If you are looking for honest, hard working, and friendly you need look no further than Jerry and his wife. <br />"

"Hopewell Roofing did an excellent job with our new roof. Dylan Zorn supervised the project masterfully from beginning to end. He explained the products and procedures, assisted the adjustor in his assessment of roof damage, and guided us through the application process for the insurance claim. On the day of installation, a full cadre of Hopewell roofers arrived and swarmed the roof, completing the job in record time and cleaning up with great care to remove all debris and nails. We recommend Hopewell with 5 stars (and wish there were a 6-star review). Thanks Dylan and Hopewell. Our new roof is beautiful!"

"<p>Richard from Housworth came to the house and before he had even looked at the roof said that we probably had hail or wind damage and that he could get me a new roof through my insurance for free. He then climbed on the roof and saw 9 shingles that were damaged and said that if I didn't choose to file an insurance claim for a new roof, their minimum charge would be $550 to replace the 9 damaged shingles. My fianceé said that price was ridiculous so he reduced it to $450 because I had used their company in the past. I was 7 days away from closing and did not need the hassle of insurance claims, etc., plus my insurance agent said that if they agreed there was damage, any insurance coverage would be prorated because of the age of the roof (16 years). </p> <p>I called a second company, Kaiser Siding and Roofing, and he only saw 1 damaged shingle, did not mention needing a new roof or any hail or wind damage, and replaced the 1 damaged shingle for a minimum charge of $225. Still high but half of the reduced rate from Housworth.</p>"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Moreland, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
