"Ad-Ler Roofing did an amazing job. From the estimate, shingle selection, explanation of events, tear-off, dry-in, and final installation of Shingles, the company did everything they said. Even nicer, was the fact that anytime I had a question about the process and called or e-mailed the office, they always returned my calls or e-mails with 1 hour or less. As we have experienced since Hurricane Ian, nobody in business will call you back in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend Ad-Ler for any roofing needs."

"I've worked with several contractors over the years, but I can truly say never one as good as Jim Fernandez with Good Neighbor Roofing. His honesty, attention to detail, and professionalism surpassed them all. I can't thank him and his team enough for their exceptional job on my flat roof."

"I just had my roof replaced from shingles to Metal panels. I decided to go with a new metal roof due to a longer life and Hurricane resistance. I contacted a couple of local metal roofers, and Triple Crown Roofing (813-715-4617). I went with Triple Crown due to their many years of experience with installing metal roofs, and their value-oriented pricing. I got the most bang for my buck with them.... a better roof for a lower price. Their workers were very hard-working and did a great job, The Crew-Leader Ramon was very knowledgeable, and assisted with repairing a "Dead Valley" area that had a previous leak. When it comes time for your shingle roof replacement (mine was 15 years old), I highly recommend that you go with a new metal roof installed by Triple Crown Roofing, Plus they have the longest workmanship guarantee -- 10 years."

"I love working with New Dawn Electric. They are terrific communicators and very reliable. In addition, I have complete faith in their work. The electric inspector just came to the house and reviewed the full installation. The work passed final inspection without a single question. Definitely recommend and would absolutely use again. <br />"

"If you ever need a roof repair, this is the person to use.  They returned my call within 24 hours, set an appointment, confirmed the appointment, showed up on time.  Craig, the owner was courteous, professional and evaluated the leak himself, and then scheduled the repair.  The repair was done in the time frame he quoted.  He did not try to sell us a new roof or any additional product which is the experience we have had with other roofing companies.  We highly recommend his company and we will be using him in the future when we replace our roof. Great service, great job, we were very satisfied with the whole experience. <br />"

"Jerry's came to my rescue again. They've done several repairs on my roof over the past 12 years. This one was needed after I noticed that the fascia was sagging out from the house for a length of about 4 feet which resulted in a trough to catching water against the roof. (This is a roof that was install by my builder, not by Jerry's.) My pest control company checked the area of the sagging fascia for pests and alerted me to the rotting wood situation. The pest company also checked up in the attic and told me that I had rotted OSB and rafters - so I called Jerry's. John from Jerry's came on 5/9/2012 and did the estimate followed by a two man crew coming out on Saturday, 5/12/2012 to do the repairs. They tore out the fascia, soffit and a portion of the roof about 10 feet long by 4 or 5 feet and fixed all the rotted area. It took them about 3 hours. They did a great job picking up the discarded shingles, rotted osb and wood and left my property clean. Although my shingles are 12 years old, you really need to look hard to see the area of the repair"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Myakka City, FL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
