"Dan and his crew did a fantastic job painting the interior of our newly purchased home. Two things are noteworthy. A large wall of wood-stained built ins was painted white. Several painters didn't want to touch this part of the job, but Dan and crew did a great job! We are thrilled with the effect. Secondly, all the work was done while we were away. Dan updated us regularly with pictures and our home was in great shape when we arrived to see the transition from Oriental to Coastal. We recommend him wholeheartedly. You can trust both the quality of the work and the integrity of the workers. When we have another paint job, we'll feel great about working with Dan again."

"Working with Ronnie and his crew was great! The cost of services was very reasonable, but more importantly, the work accomplished by Ronnie and his crew was excellent. We hired Ronnie the Painter first to paint the exterior of our home. They did such a great job on the exterior that we then contacted Ronnie and hired them to do the entire interior of our home (without even looking for other quotes). Based on the professionalism shown with the exterior job, we knew the interior job would also go well ... and it did! His crew showed up on time every morning and continued working until the job was done. No complaints at all. Would hire again in a heartbeat!"

"Jimmy's Coatings just painted roughly 70% of the interior of our home. They did a fantastic job. They were on time every day, and they completed the job a day earlier than projected. The quality of the work was excellent, and they treated us and our home in a professional manner. Both Jimmy and his crew leader, Chad, addressed any/all questions or requests that we had. Very happy with their work and will use them again."

"I got several estimates, and the professionalism and price varied wildly! One contractor walked around looking at the place, and left....no measuring, no discussion about paint whatsoever, so I wondered what paint would be used, how long it might take, etc. The second contractor walked around with a measuring device and told me that he would get the paint...no mention of anything else. The next contractor sent a very detailed estimate that was over $5,000 for the 1,350 sq. ft. unit. There were eight rooms to paint, and this contractor charged extra for every color change over three, and around $75 for each change, which helped bring it up to that cost. When the estimates came in, one was so under-detailed, that it mostly said, 'Paint condo; 8 rooms'. Again, no mention of the paint, or it's quality, etc. That brings us to Fresh Coat. The estimator came out on time and ready to get to work. She measured all the rooms, and offered a service from Sherwin-Williams to help choose colors, but I had already chosen my colors and didn't need that. We went over all the color choices that I had made, and she recorded each room with the chosen color. She went over the paint choices and I chose the one that best suited my needs. Next, we chose a tentative date. When I got the estimate it was fair and accurate, and I chose Fresh Coat to do the work for me. Their schedule improved, and I met the paint crew two days earlier that originally scheduled, and that was good for me. The painters were on-time and dug right in removing lots of nails, drapery hardware and anything on the walls. They patched a few holes and some tears in the paper of the dry wall. The kitchen was a very dark red color. The previous painters had hit the ceiling with the dark color several times, and before the Fresh Coat painters started with the new very light color, they went around the entire room and painted the edges white to match the ceiling. After two heavy coats of the new color on the walls, we could still see a glimpse of that really dark color, so they did a third coat, and that did the trick. They finished the whole place in less than four days and did an outstanding job! I am very happy with the quality of the work, and the price, and would recommend them even to the pickiest people I know, and they would not be disappointed."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Myrtle Beach, SC

For aluminum siding, go with a high-quality 100% acrylic exterior paint. Start with an oil-based primer to ensure the finish adheres and shields the metal from oxidation and moisture. The primer seals the surface and provides the acrylic with a surface to grip. Skip latex primers or paints—their reaction with aluminum can trap bubbles and cause early peeling.

How long will painted aluminum siding last?

A well-done paint job on aluminum siding can last around 15 years, making the upfront effort worthwhile. Longevity hinges on solid prep: thoroughly cleaning the surface to remove chalky residue, dirt, and mildew so the new paint can adhere properly. It’s also important to paint when temperatures are between 50°F and 80°F, as extreme heat or cold can affect drying and adhesion. Steer clear of rainy days—moisture under the paint weakens adhesion and speeds up peeling or fading, which can significantly shorten the lifespan of your fresh coat.

Plan on repainting when the finish starts fading or leaves a chalky, white residue on your hand. Check the siding each year; if there’s a powdery residue on your palm, it indicates oxidation is underway on your siding. A fresh coat of paint stops peeling before it starts, boosts curb appeal, and keeps the metal protected.

Spray painting aluminum siding offers significant benefits compared to other application styles. Spray painting delivers even coverage, rapid application, and enhanced adhesion compared to traditional painting methods. This technique ensures every surface is evenly coated, minimizes labor time, and provides a sleek, professional finish that withstands weather and oxidation for lasting results.

The return on investment for aluminum siding is 70%. For example, a $10,000 aluminum siding installation will add $7,000 to your home’s resale value. Regional housing markets, the quality of siding materials, and ongoing upkeep—including repainting and repairs—influence final ROI. Investing in professional installation and regular maintenance ensures you recoup a significant portion of your siding costs when it’s time to sell.

Several materials can replace aluminum siding, each offering unique trade-offs. Vinyl siding requires minimal upkeep and resists fading, lasting up to 30 years. Wood siding provides classic warmth but demands regular painting or sealing. Fiber cement and composite siding offer exceptional durability and design flexibility, requiring minimal maintenance. Brick veneer and stucco create premium, long-lasting exteriors, but they come with higher upfront costs and increased installation complexity.
