"Cortez A1 Remodeling completed a front hall coat closet renovation for me that involved stripping wallpaper, removing stipple from the closet ceiling and sanding, priming, and painting, replacing an MDF shelf with red oak and mitre cutting PVC baseboards for the closet. Francisco and his dad, a master carpenter, also took care of the fine details for a staircase remodel, adding end pieces for unfinished edges. Cortez A1 Remodeling was on time, communicated well, and competent. I have other house projects requiring plumbing and electrical work. Since this company did an excellent job on these initial projects, I hope to have them as my “go to” resource for future projects. "

"Bryan was super nice and very responsive until his crew started to install the fence. He installed what appears to be a used fence or fence with a very bad finish. Our neighbor has a 7 year old fence and theirs looks way nicer than ours. Bryan?s brother even mentioned: ?this is not up to our standards?Bryan has not responded to our calls and texts and this project started 12/18/25 and is still not finished and Bryan has been almost totally non responsive. We have fence posts without tops and he chose to Amazon us parts?which only fixed half of the post tops as there is multiple sizes? We chose this company based on Bryan and his company reviews but it has been a total nightmare! The owner has not tried to resolve after multiple attempts. In addition, he had his crew sledge hammer a fence post next to our house and has destroyed our Hardy Board Siding. We brought this to his attention and he did not acknowledge nor apologize. Beware of this company. Bryan is very nice until things go si"

"I wanted straighter/level deck & edges of a 97 year old slate roof before removing the slate, replacing the deck, and replacing the slate with asphalt shingle. My thought was to prop low spots in the wavy front edge in front, and prop the sagging corners in back; then, to build triangular braces similar to one extant on the house, like many on houses of similar age and design in the neighborhood. The idea of propping the low spots was dismissed, discussed again, and eventually dismissed as unnecessary; the low spots were forced up by hand, and fascia boards attached. While I was told the weight of the new roof might drop the level of the low spots again, this may have been more than anticipated; in retrospect it may have been preferable to force the low spots higher than could be done by hand, as the discrepancies from linear in the edges of the roof have, I think, caused inability to properly interface the drip edges and guttering at many places. I would though hire Dave's again."
