"Eric and his team from A Plus Roofing did an excellent job in repairing my gutters, cleaning them and using hidden hangers. They were professional, prompt and did an excellent job. I would highly recommended A Plus Roofing. The customer service was excellent, was able to make an appointment quickly, and excellent follow up. This is the second time I am using them and would highly recommend them. Thank you for the service and excellent work!"

"This review is going to seem strange because Trenton Roofing and Siding did not actually do any work for me. However, I wanted to share how impressed I was with their presentation. I contacted four roofing companies for removal and replacement of a residential roof. I researched each as much as I possibly could using written reviews on sites such as this and general reputation. All four companies offered Timberline shingles and provided folders containing small patches of the available colors. Ever imagine how a new carpet will look in your house from looking at small carpet sample? Just as difficult to imagine your roof color from a small patch of roof tile. Only Trenton Roofing’s website listed locations of past work and a filter to find each of the Timberland colors on a completed roof. My wife and I were able to drive to multiple locations, within a twenty minute radius of our home and see the colors on competed roofs. I set up an appointment with Trenton Roofing and Jamie arrived on time and was friendly and informative regarding the work to be performed. He quickly sent us a written estimate which was the most detailed of all four companies. I had additional questions for each company’s representative after receiving their estimates and Jamie was the quickest to respond to those questions. Finally, Trenton Roofing was the lowest priced. So why didn’t I hire them? I would have except a large section of my roof requires a flat roof system. One company submitted an alternative type of flat roof that costs several thousand dollars more than that offered by Trenton Roofing or the other two companies. I am able to afford the extra cost and decided on that option. If looking for a new roof I would recommend Trenton Roofing and Siding as a company to contact and consider for the job."

"Roofing expert from More Core (sorry, don't remember his name) located and fixed a small roof leak by caulking it, at no charge. Repair held up for 2 years, so I would say that's pretty good."

"I contacted Roof Renew Pros after receiving a flier in the mail. I called and spoke to Barb who did a great job of explaining their unique process which is a wash and rinse method that does not use chlorine or any other harsh chemical products; nor is any high pressure washing done. She came and inspected the house and garage and provided a detailed description of what was found and a quote . I decided to have the roof and siding cleaned on both the house and the garage. The job result was fantastic! One person commented "Your siding looks new!". Barb was extremely helpful during the whole process and the crew was great---no mess or damage to plants at all! I highly recommend Roof Renew Pros."

"Al and his team are fantastic. They came out on a Saturday to diagnose and repair a leak I had around a vent pipe in my roof. They always do quality, detailed work. They had painted my house last year and I still get compliments on how nice and clean everything looks. If you need any work outside or in call Al and his team."

"My house is 20 years old. We recently had a torrential rainstorm. Sitting in my 2nd floor office, rain began leaking through the ceiling. I looked for a roofing company with a good reputation and called Wagner Roofing in Flemington, NJ. They were quick to respond and sent Mark out who climbed up on top of my roof and detected leaks in flashing around the vent pipes. He caulked all of them and even cleaned out my dryer vent. He gave me an estimate on a new roof but that was it. “No charge for today,” said Mark. He never tried to sell us anything or scare us. His honesty and integrity were so refreshing that I was a little shell shocked initially, and so impressed I decided to go for a new roof anyway. The quote was right on the money, as well! They were about a month out but they arrived this week with a crew of 8. So organized! I have a pretty big roof with a few gables, but they got the entire job done from 7 am to 5:45 pm, working the cleanup in the dark. Foreman, Lito, was very helpful and made sure I was happy every step of the way. In my opinion, this is a company that should be patronized for your roofing needs!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in New Brunswick, NJ

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
