"Once again and with the highest confidence, we hired Russell's Contracting to convert our back entrance into a more open, useful mudroom. As promised, they arrived on time on the expected date and started by sealing off the back entrance for dust. The demolition of the closet was first done, and then the rehab began. My house was built in 1933, and this railing system looks like it could have been original to the house. It is a masterpiece. "Poor installation. No attention to detail and rushed the job. The windows do not slide smoothly or tilt out without scraping and were poorly insulated. I have installed a number of replacement windows so I know right from wrong. Installation for 12 windows was supposed to take 2 days but it took 5 hours. The installers were NOT going to insulate around the frames until I insisted. They refused to insulate the bottom of the frame to my satisfaction. They refused to install the top vinyl trim cap. This left a one inch space above the window frame which they filled with caulking. The caps ended up being leftover parts. Skip ( owner) offered to take them out and re-install (no thanks), Skip apologized and blamed it on coronavirus. The windows are of good quality but they were installed incorrectly."
