"Absolutely horrible experience. Within three weeks of installation, the fence was ripping and leaning and the wood was breaking and bowing. Horrible customer service, installation and materials."

"Please see attached image for details Brian and ABS bring top notch customer service, consultation and knowledge to roofing, building and remodeling. They are timely, communicative and ensure that we as homeowners know all angles of a job. Top level craftsmanship and attention to detail they provide an incredible end project. They replaced our roof which is a steep tricky roof and were able to get it done in one day. Where our first floor roof meets the siding we had some rot on some siding along the roof edge. Brian looked closer and said half the roofline needed to be cut out. Instead of just replacing the bad siding, Brian cut out a line across the entire edge so that it would look uniform. He fixed and replaced the flashing and covered it with plastic wood. He recommended this for aesthetics and to help prevent any further degradation. Adding an additional unforeseen cost, we feel that the cost was competitive and fair for the amount of time, material and attention to detail. "

"I had lost power in part of my kitchen. Because of it being the 4th of July weekend I couldn't get anyone to come out. I contacted CAG and one of the owner's, Anthony, he came out within a haul an hour AND on a SATURDAY! He came went up and down the stairs to check the fuse box several times, made the assessment and told me what the problem was, then gave me the option of hiring someone else, BUT, because he came on a SATURDAY, you already know! Anyway, he came back a week later, with Rick, and his assistant and they went right to work. Oh, and they also put in an overhead light that he said that I really needed, at NO CHARGE! They were really professional, cleaned up all debris."

FAQs for wood fence repair projects in New Haven, CT

The time it takes to install a swimming pool fence varies depending on the project's complexity. A simple installation can be completed in about two hours. However, if your project involves concrete work, regrading, custom installations, or challenging terrain, it could take up to two full days. Each additional factor increases the labor and time needed to ensure your fence meets safety standards.

Yes, installing a lock on your pool gate enhances safety by preventing unauthorized access. A self-closing, self-latching gate with a key-lock mechanism provides strong protection, helping to keep children and pets safe. Securing your pool gate adds an extra layer of security and offers peace of mind when using the pool area.

A pool fence requires a specific height to secure the pool area. In most states, the fence must be 48 inches tall; some regulations require 60 inches for enhanced safety. Checking local building codes guarantees compliance with these height requirements. A taller fence strengthens protection and improves the overall security of your pool area, ensuring it meets stringent safety standards.

Mesh and tempered glass are among the safest pool fencing choices because their design and smooth surfaces make them resistant to climbing attempts. They provide consistent, rigid barriers that prevent unauthorized access to your pool area. These materials ensure optimal safety for children and pets. In addition, incorporating a pool safety net further enhances protection and addresses additional security concerns, ensuring that your pool remains a safe environment for all users.

Pool fencing requirements vary by local, state, and federal regulations. In most states, installing a pool fence is mandatory for safety and insurance purposes. Ask your pool fence pro for local regulations or check with your local planning department to understand the specific height and design requirements for your area. Complying with these regulations ensures legal compliance and enhances safety.
