"Hired Grants Tree Service to remove a large dead silver maple tree from my back yard. Excellent experience from beginning to end. Very prompt response to my request for estimate. Price was very competitive -- thousands less then one of the estimates I got. Very professional crew. They did a great job, including removal of the tree and grinding of stump. Would definitely recommend and hire again."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Cody, and all the workers at Ramsey & Family Tree Service did an excellent job removing 10 large, and very tall trees that were too close to our home. They were prompt and very considerate and careful about our property. They cleared all the branches and trunks, leaving even our driveway clear of debris! We fully recommend Cody and his team for any tree removal projects!"

"When I called for a quote, he came within a day. Being very busy, I was told it might even be 6 weeks. They called me last night and said they could do it this morning at 8. So that was only a week. They were prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and fast. The arborist also told me that the tree did not need cabling which saved me some money! We also discussed what I will do in the future. They cleaned up the yard upon completion. I will use them again!"

"Hoffman and crew removed several trees and a couple stumps. They were exceptional and beyond what I was expecting. They cleaned up the yard when finished and left it better than when they started. I will be using them in the future."

"Precision Tree did a wonderful job taking down our 43 year old Silver Maple tree. They were very professional and showed up on time as promised even though it was only in the teens they spent 6 hours out in the cold. We still need to have the stump removed which they will be coming back to do. I would definitely recommend Precision Tree Service."

"I was very pleased with the service. They did a great job thinning out the tree without ruining the "shape" of the beautiful tree. The team of (3) were polite, professional and very efficient. They cleaned up everything ( and used a wood chipper) and left my yard neat. The price for the work performed was very reasonable. I would definitely hire this company again. Brandy was professional and was very knowledgeable and gave me great advice. Thanks again for the great service."

"Excellent. Have used Rick multiple times over multiple years. Three times in the last few months alone. He removed a tree at my son's home and the neighbors voluntarily commented about how well the tree and stump were removed and how thorough the job site clean up was. The best example of how much Rick cares is that when I asked him to prune a willow tree (that may be nearing it's end of life) he suggested that we instead do a fertilization process on the tree to see how well it responds. If it responds well we'll prune next year. If it doesn't then we've not wasted money on pruning a dying tree. I no longer even think of calling anyone else for tree work. Rick is in my contacts on my cell phone - and I'll be calling him about another potential job today."

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Newark, OH

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
