The work was performed in a timely manner and the agreed-upon price. During construction, they kept the site clean and free of excess debris. I recommend this company for your flagstone granite needs. In addition, they installed new concrete at my neighbors property, and the finish of the concrete work was outstanding. The workers were courteous and respectful of me as well as my neighbors."

Joe and his team removed the old concrete and replaced it with pavers. Joe did exactly what I asked and even made some improvement suggestions that I am very happy with. "I had just finished working with three different contractors on separate projects inside of our new home and wanted to renovate our backyard before hosting a baby shower at the end of the following month. That concentrated experience with different companies (some of which less ideal than others) left me a bit apprehensive but also helped set a standard when it came to finding the right company to revamp our backyard. Upon first meeting Oz and Brandon at our consultation, they far exceeded my expectations when it came to customer service. Sure, they took measurements of our yard and we discussed the scope of the project. However, they also took time to tell me about themselves and their work, and to get to know me and what my goals were for both the final backyard result and the process getting there. Time, affordability, quality, and professionalism were all important to me and I can honestly say that Encore Builders was able to meet all of my needs without drastically sacrificing one for another. As for their communication skills? Before, during, and after this whole experience: grade A. Before we officially decided to green-light Encore and their services, I was waiting on my other half to return home from working out of state so that he and I could discuss, in person. In the meantime, Brandon regularly followed-up via telephone calls - and never in a badgering or pushy manner. It was the perfect level of professionalism I would expect from a successful business. He genuinely wanted to make sure that we were comfortable with the information they provided and that we had a clear understanding of what our options were. For example, they initially recommended utilizing their designer to generate ideas for our backyard but the vision we had seemed relatively straightforward (I even provided rough measurements for it). We decided to forgo the designer and draw out a plan together because they were determined to help make our yard as close to our vision as possible without breaking the bank. After material costs were confirmed, Oz and Brandon would regularly text me with new ideas (minor, but money-saving tweaks) that would help us stay within budget. As far as when the project started, if Oz had not already physically stopped by to check in, he was calling me at the end of the each day to go over the happenings and discuss what I should expect the following day. He also made purchasing materials from suppliers a breeze by doing all of the legwork and acting as an intermediary for the payment process. Then there was the crew who truly cared about their quality of work. Yes, there were a few errors and minor overlooked details along the way - that is inevitable. But unlike the experience I had with previous contractors, the crew was receptive to my concerns, more than willing to correct the matter, and never once made me feel uncomfortable or bad for pointing it out in the first place. And these guys were really putting in the work. Due to an impending storm, we had (rotating) crew members here 7 days straight while our project was completed in 10 days (the bulk of which consisted of demoing, grading, resloping, and replacing 1400sf half grass/half concrete yard with brick/pavers and artificial turf). Of course, at the end of the day, Encore is running a business and making a living but they are incredibly easy to work with and are altruistic when it comes to giving their clients a beautiful yard. They even sent a team back to seal our pavers for us when we inquired about it (paver sealing is not an inherent service). We are over the moon with our results and despite my other half previously advocating for real grass, our artificial turf is so vibrant and convenient that he is eager to get some in our front yard, as well. To be clear, we absolutely plan on renovating our front yard in the near future and will ONLY be calling Encore. Thank you, you have all been phenomenal."

"Our project was one step and a landing on our porch. Approx. 30 sq feet. We had the top layer of tile removed and concrete around the door area chiseled and jack hammered away. They then cut fossil stone for risers and step/landing in large squares as requested. They did put up a moisture barrier at the entrance and calked after grouting the stone. This was done upon the City of Downeys expectations. I believe that wouldn't have been done had I not called the city to come by to clarify the code for this job. So my only complaint is that some workers, actually most don't keep up or research the code. Then when the city does visit you may have to tear down a project and re do it. That can be costly and frustrating. Our porch and step look great. Not sure if the cost to us was cheap, but it is done and looks great."

The design worked out better than we thought, making the space look bigger. His team handled the grading and laid a proper base under both sections. The turf drains well, and the pavers stay cool even in the heat. Everything is solid, ad we now use that part of the yard every weekend."

"I waited to put up a review for Pacific Outdoor Living until I could give a full story. Our goal was to fix up our backyard which had never been 'scaped before. We had POL put in a patio of pavers with a grill placed and landscape the entire backyard. We also had an in ground water fountain set up. The job went as planned on time. The different crews were extremely polite and respectful. Very professional. The job turned out beautifully but there were some issues, which thankfully POL has been willing to address. To start, they are a solid pavers company. That is their absolute strength. They know what they are talking about here. The patio and grill are awesome. We had it set with electrical wiring for both an outdoor fridge and a countertop outlet. We also had them run conduit over to a spot where we later installed a jacuzzi. They did a fantastic job. We hired them to also do the landscaping and as we learned, while they do this well, it is not their 1st expertise. They provide this in order to do complete jobs. I suspect there is always going to be loss of some vegetation after installation. This is probably the one thing you can't guarantee but there are other companies we got estimates from where landscaping was clearly their primary expertise. Nevertheless, POL has always owned anything that didn't go perfectly. The landscaping looked great but some of the sod and some of the water resistant plants didn't survive. They replaced whatever needed to be replaced. Even after the summer heat wave and drought where we were limited to watering the lawn to twice a week and had grass die. They listened to my issues which they agreed were not my fault. They owned up to the fact that the sprinkler zones were not perfectly laid out. More than a year later, they came out and just added an additional zone for the lawn, replaced some of the ground cover. In addition, the outlet on our new grill/counter shorted out with the heavy rains this winter as somehow water managed to seep under the covered outlets; they replaced this as well. It would have been more ideal if everything turned out perfectly from the beginning but with these projects, one has to assume there will be some issues. What you want is a company that stands by its work and will not balk at fixing things. POL owned it all and has impressed me by doing so. I am so impressed that I am buying a new batch of mulch from them. I would hire them again even with the landscaping issues because they did not walk away from the problems even after the initial three month warranty. They are a class act."

"Our concrete driveway was 35 years old, well-worn and cracked in numerous areas. It was unsightly and detracted from the overall look of the house and yard. It is also over 300 feet long covering 5200 square feet. We decided to have it replaced with pavers along with the walkway to our front door. Once that decision was made we had to figure out the contractor to use and the pavers to use. I got eight bids from small companies, midsized companies and the large national companies. The price difference between the lowest to the highest was $54,000. The two big companies were nearly twice the cost of the lowest ones. I also found that there are different methods of installing the pavers. I have a fairly steep grade on the driveway. One of the large expensive companies wanted to put 22 bolsters on the driveway. Some of the small companies weren't going to install any. The majority were going to install 3 or 4 bolsters. These keep the pavers from sliding down the grade. I ended up contracting with Eminent Pavers owned and operated by Mark (Web Site; eminentpavers.com) (Phone No. 323 842-9464) (Email; eminentconstruction1@gmail.com). Mark has been installing pavers for many years and knows his business. He also has only one crew that is overseen by his foreman, Santiago. Several of the companies I got bids from run several crews. Mark has one crew of extremely hardworking and talented craftsman. He is not overreaching and bringing in labors to operate several jobs at once. Most of Mark's employees have been with him for several years. His foreman, Santiago, has been with him for nearly ten years. Mark's cost for the project was more than fair. He was not the lowest bid, but he did much more than the lowest ones and even more that those big expensive companies. Mark also has an eye for design. Our driveway was not a box. It had curves and sweeps as it flowed to the garage. Mark was on his hands and knees making sure the finish product looked right, and it did. Picking out the right pavers is not an easy task. There are two primary suppliers and numerous colors and designs. One recommendation I have is to drive to the supply house Mark will recommend and look at them in person. The brochure photos don't always look the same in person. Once we had signed the contract we added a planter. Not a problem. Mark gave us a very fair price for the additional work. Mark's did such a great job our daughter had contracted with him to put pavers in at her house and our son is going to get a bid from him for his driveway. I rarely leave reviews. However, Mark, Santiago and the craftsman that completed this project deserve these acylates and thanks."
