One of them visited and inspected the project at least once a day from start to finish. The price was reasonable and the final product (driveway pavers) is beautiful. The workmen who actually installed the pavers were like old-world artisans. We needed to replace an old asphalt driveway for our son and daughter-in-law's backyard wedding and, after the work was completed, we received numerous compliments from our neighbors and family members as to how great the pavers look. We are about to undertake the replacement of a fence adjoining our neighbor's property and are excited to know that Paramount Pavers & Construction also does fence construction. We will be calling them for the job."

"Having managed dozens of renovations over the years, both commercial and residential, I can say that Joe Messineo is the best contractor I have ever hired, in any craft. No minor distinction. A 3rd generation master stone mason, Joe is an old school modern craftsman who produces quality builds. I engaged him to demolish and rebuild virtually all of the hardscape at my home---driveway, side walkways, French drain, brick patio inserts, and over 150 feet of retaining walls. A 7-week job, with more than a few moving parts. Joe’s team, Enrique and Claudio, worked like stunt men in a choreographed manner, carefully removing thousands of pounds of old concrete and cinder blocks, positioning rebar and framing the sites for cement. The worksite was clean and orderly at the end of each day. Then, 2 generations of Messineo---Joe, with a guest appearance by his father, built a complex series of retaining walls and brick inserts, that will clearly last decades longer than the original work from 1959. Every line dead-level, every elevation plumb, and every surface finished perfectly. The concrete team that completed the job with 2 truckloads of wet mix, delivered flawless slabs of new surface. Their overall level of craftsmanship and professionalism is not often to be seen these days, and it deserves recognition when it arrives."

"Encore Builders is currently finishing up an outstanding project for us that includes low-voltage lighting, pavers, turf installation, and a beautiful patio cover, and we couldn’t be more impressed. From the very beginning, Brandon and Oz were one hundred percent involved in every part of the process. They came out to give us a quote that proved to be extremely affordable (the best priced out of 5 local companies we brought out). They are in constant communication with us regarding every step of the process. Their team always arrives on time and cleans up the area when leaving. Everyone on their team is truly lovely. They also provided a 3D work up before the project so we would know what to expect. This for me was extremely helpful as I am a visual person and like to see things drawn up before moving forward with such a project. Overall, I had to write this review even before the completion of all these projects because I am blown away by such a company."

"The outdoor kitchen project had been on our list for years, but we wanted it done right. Way To Go Builders, under Miki's supervision, poured a concrete base, installed paver surfacing, and faced the kitchen island with natural stone veneer. The attention to detail - from the joint alignment to the gas line integration - was remarkable. The finished space fits the architecture perfectly and gives us a true entertaining area, not just a patio."

"Our project was one step and a landing on our porch. Approx. 30 sq feet. We had the top layer of tile removed and concrete around the door area chiseled and jack hammered away. They then cut fossil stone for risers and step/landing in large squares as requested. They did put up a moisture barrier at the entrance and calked after grouting the stone. This was done upon the City of Downeys expectations. I believe that wouldn't have been done had I not called the city to come by to clarify the code for this job. So my only complaint is that some workers, actually most don't keep up or research the code. Then when the city does visit you may have to tear down a project and re do it. That can be costly and frustrating. Our porch and step look great. Not sure if the cost to us was cheap, but it is done and looks great."

"I waited to put up a review for Pacific Outdoor Living until I could give a full story. Our goal was to fix up our backyard which had never been 'scaped before. We had POL put in a patio of pavers with a grill placed and landscape the entire backyard. We also had an in ground water fountain set up. The job went as planned on time. The different crews were extremely polite and respectful. Very professional. The job turned out beautifully but there were some issues, which thankfully POL has been willing to address. To start, they are a solid pavers company. That is their absolute strength. They know what they are talking about here. The patio and grill are awesome. We had it set with electrical wiring for both an outdoor fridge and a countertop outlet. We also had them run conduit over to a spot where we later installed a jacuzzi. They did a fantastic job. We hired them to also do the landscaping and as we learned, while they do this well, it is not their 1st expertise. They provide this in order to do complete jobs. I suspect there is always going to be loss of some vegetation after installation. This is probably the one thing you can't guarantee but there are other companies we got estimates from where landscaping was clearly their primary expertise. Nevertheless, POL has always owned anything that didn't go perfectly. The landscaping looked great but some of the sod and some of the water resistant plants didn't survive. They replaced whatever needed to be replaced. Even after the summer heat wave and drought where we were limited to watering the lawn to twice a week and had grass die. They listened to my issues which they agreed were not my fault. They owned up to the fact that the sprinkler zones were not perfectly laid out. More than a year later, they came out and just added an additional zone for the lawn, replaced some of the ground cover. In addition, the outlet on our new grill/counter shorted out with the heavy rains this winter as somehow water managed to seep under the covered outlets; they replaced this as well. It would have been more ideal if everything turned out perfectly from the beginning but with these projects, one has to assume there will be some issues. What you want is a company that stands by its work and will not balk at fixing things. POL owned it all and has impressed me by doing so. I am so impressed that I am buying a new batch of mulch from them. I would hire them again even with the landscaping issues because they did not walk away from the problems even after the initial three month warranty. They are a class act."

"Mark Ovitch and Eminent Construction are the best! My husband and I got 3 estimates to redo our concrete driveway which was being destroyed by tree roots. Then we got Mark's estimate to install pavers instead of concrete. It was less expensive to do pavers, and it looks so much nicer!!! We were also able to install a front walkway, which I've been wanting for more than 25 years. His workers are very professional, and the project was completed in 3 days!! Mark goes above & beyond to make his clients happy and to do a good job at a very affordable price. Highly recommended!"
