"Hurricane Sally damaged our roof in 2020 and to the rescue came Specialty Roofers. Drew was very helpful and we had a new roof with high quality shingles and a great warranty all by the early spring of 2021. I have recommended this company to all my friends and all who required new roofs are just as satisfied as I am."

"We contacted RenewPro to replace our roof. Our sales rep was David Harrison and he was outstanding working with us going over all the options and what would work the best in our area. He worked with us through the whole process. Their installation crew was outstanding and did an excellent job with the removal, repair, and installation of the new roof. We would highly recommend them for any roofing needs."

"Up through signing on, it went great - very responsive - answered all questions. While the actual quality of work appears good (except for damage to gutters, sprinklers etc - expected some) the ability to extract information was tough. Once the work crew arrived, my poor Spanish and their poor English didn't always get the point across. Had concerns and tried to determine the quality of the roof plywood (told all was good) but two sheets were replaced and no one knows where."

"He showed up in the time frame we scheduled. He checked the whole roof, then fixed the leak in about a 1/2 hour. We had a record 20" of rain the next week and not a single leak. We are very happy with the work that was done. He sent us a proposal for some suggestions he has to prolong the life of our roof. <br />"

"I just had my roof replaced from shingles to Metal panels. I decided to go with a new metal roof due to a longer life and Hurricane resistance. I contacted a couple of local metal roofers, and Triple Crown Roofing (813-715-4617). I went with Triple Crown due to their many years of experience with installing metal roofs, and their value-oriented pricing. I got the most bang for my buck with them.... a better roof for a lower price. Their workers were very hard-working and did a great job, The Crew-Leader Ramon was very knowledgeable, and assisted with repairing a "Dead Valley" area that had a previous leak. When it comes time for your shingle roof replacement (mine was 15 years old), I highly recommend that you go with a new metal roof installed by Triple Crown Roofing, Plus they have the longest workmanship guarantee -- 10 years."

"From the estimate, where all my questions were answered to questions asked while making my decision, Freeman stood out far and above all the other Roofing Companies. My roof was put on yesterday. Prompt on time arrival through to the clean up of all material, including looking for any fallen nails with a metal detector, I am more than happy with Freeman Roofing. Would recommend them to everyone."

"I thought they did a good job but when I had some follow up work done I was told that they did not do the flat roof correctly. However, I have had no problems with it and that was over a year ago and we have had torrential rains. They cleaned the area thoroughly and you could not find an old tile or a nail in the yard. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Niceville, FL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
