"Very impressed with the level of service and work done by Altaview. Had 5 trees trimmed and brought the canopy up as well as removing 2 trees. "We have had Chris and his guys out to do tree work in our yard 3 times in the last 5 years, each time they come, they have done excellent work. They are always courteous and are very hard workers. Chris does a good job of keeping us informed regarding their schedule in regards to "our job". I would highly recommend them."

Small jobs welcome

"This company was Profesional, experienced and friendly. We had a large fir tree stump removed from our backyard. The technician had to guide the stump grinder through a narrow space of 36 inches to get to our backyard. He did a excellent job being mindfull of our new garden, fence and stamped colored concrete."

"There was a tension cable supporting the power pole that was anchored into the base of a large tree stump to be removed. PSE said that it would cost me $5,000 if stump removal loosened the tension cable. I required Sound Stump Removal to explain their exact process and convince me that they tension cable would not be loosened, and they did, which included manual sawing around the tension cable. When done, the stump was completely removed and the tension cable was secure. Nice job!"

"Initially the owner was responsive after my call and came a few days later to do an estimate which he quoted would be around $1700. He also had a specialist with him since the trees were leaning into a large maple. He said he had an opening the next day to do the job. I agreed. Well it  took much longer than anticipated with his men looking at the trees for over an 1 1/2 hours with out doing any work. I feel this was not explained very well and if you choose this company get a written bid. I spoke directly with the owner and he had many  reasons why the job took so long and needed extra men. To him this was rare event and he was concerned with the safety of his men. Therefore the price was increased for the job. Good luck to you if you choose this company to do work for you.

"Short version:  I am VERY pleased.

Long version:  Very competitive on price.  Paul was a referral from a crawlspace guy I had over a few days earlier, and was quite pleased that his bid was rather lower than a couple I received last spring.

But, I'm especially pleased on 3 levels.....

First, him and his crew were punctual to the minute, and he brought a sufficiently large crew so that a sizeable job was done in a matter of hours, minimizing the impact on my tenants and neighbors.

Second, tradesmen inevitably leave messes that require moderate to major cleanup--very aggravating--but in Paul's case, I'm standing there, after he and his crew are done and gone, with a broom in my hands, and nothing to sweep up--Paul and his guys had cleaned up after themselves, so I had nothing to deal with after the fact.

Third, there were a number of interactions between my tenants (whom I value greatly as they're great tenants), and Paul's guys...and without exception, my tenants were effusive in their compliments about the politeness and consideration of Paul and his guys.

If I ever again need tree work, I will definitely call Paul

"Fast and competitively priced. Start to finish less than 2 hrs for 2 large 45 ft tall 13 yr old Leyland cypress located less than 8 ft from house near property line. We had them come back two weeks later to grind the stumps after we had hand excavated to locate neighbors below surface drainage and sprinkler system as well as direction of major roots. Equally prompt, fast and perfectly priced for the industrial stump grinding. Weâ d hire them again."

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in North Bend, WA

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
