Customers say: Quick response

"I hired William and his team to weed mulch and clean up my flower beds, and weed and feed my lawn. The price was high, but I thought the quality would be worth it. After the work was done, I thought the job was well done, however, I found that there was weed killer sprayed on the grass, but the lawn was never seeded which created large brown spots on the lawn, the beds were not weeded, only mulch placed over the weeds, which grew through the next week. The weed killer was sprayed on my neighbors rose bush and killed it. When I reached out to William, he ignored my requests to address the problem."

"2020 was our first full season with American Lawn and Tree Specialists to fertilize and care for our lawn, and its never looked better! We never used a lawn company for the 20 years we've lived in Perry Hall. Instead, I religiously used the Scotts 4 Step Annual Program and our lawn was okay - nothing special. American Lawn and Tree was highly recommended by Dennis at Buddy Boy Landscaping, when our lawn was attacked by 'Red Thread' in 2019. Mark Woods came over quickly and diagnosed our problem, but it was too late in the season. Our lawn looks absolutely great - very green and healthy. We're highly satisfied with their customer service and the very quick responses to questions. They're pleasant to talk to over the phone. We added the full season of disease control this year. I highly recommend American Lawn and Tree Specialists - they will take great care of your lawn !"

"Things were going quite well until I inquired about bagging excess grass that lay on the lawn and flower beds after the job was done. I was then told that it would cost an extra $3.00 weekly to bag grass. I decided to rake up the excess instead (saving money for me). I thought the grass was being cut too low; therefore,  I then inquired about mower blade height and was told it would cost an extra $4.98 weekly to raise or lower the blade. I have been a homeowner for longer than the provider is old, have had several lawn companies attend my lawns and have never, ever, heard of such a thing....from any company.
The provider simply wrote, "If I did not charge every customer the labor to change blades or lower, or raise them I would be loosing every job. If I did not charge to bag I will be loosing with dump fees labor fees. Eventually it will add up. Please understand ." He said it would take an extra 10 minutes to adjust blades. The county waste dump is within 5 miles.
Needless to say, his services were terminated.  What started out as a $25 weekly fee would have increased to $31.92 weekly and $131.92 monthly  instead of $100 monthly per 4 weeks  had I accepted the provider's proposal.
Mind you, clipping hedges and general lawn work was not included....just mowing. Oh, after the family mulched the flower beds, the provider's crew blew grass clippings in the beds atop the mulch. Yes, I did mention this to the provider and the blowing continued. I was simply  not satisfied. Perhaps someone else might like the additions, but not us. My neighbor, I think, uses their services and might be satisfied. I did not inquire.

"Fast, reliable service. This was our first experience having lawn care done professionally, so we didn't know what to expect. The price was reasonable and Stacey came out to our house and went over how much he would charge for the services asked. We had an overall yard clean up and mowing done. Everything looked great! We actually have a front garden again. We will continue to use MowBetta for our lawn care needs! : )"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in North East, MD

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
