"I sent Mr. Long a text regarding what I thought was a leak in the roof somewhere in the vicinity of the chimney. He went to my house and based on his assessment, suggested that I have the chimney flashing and some roof shingles replaced.  He gave me an estimate for the work and a five year warranty.  I texted him and told him that I wanted him to do the work.  I happened to be home when Mr. Long came to my house to perform the work.  I invited him inside to show him where the water was coming in.  After seeing the inside, he said that I probably didn't have a roof leak at all since none of the drywall was wet, especially after all the rain we had just had from Tropical Storm Colin, but maybe the chimney cap needed to be replaced.  He said he would get on the roof and take a look.  After coming down, he showed me where it appeared that the chimney cap was not down far enough on the chimney.  He adjusted the chimney cap.  When I asked him how much I owed him, he said to give him whatever I thought was fair.  I took into account the two trips he made to my house and the fact that he did not take advantage of me and do a repair that I did not need.  I also took into account that it was less than a week from the time that I first contacted him to the time that he did the work.  I was so grateful for his willingness to come out to my house, which was a pretty good distance for him, and his integrity for not performing work that I did not need. When I paid him, he actually asked me if I thought I should give him that much.  I told him that I did think it was fair considering the two trips he made and for the value of his time and integrity.  "

"My home has a 100+ year old slate roof in disrepair and several generations of cheap fixes. I contacted Leeland's for an opinion on repairs. The inspector was extremely thorough, provided pictures, and gave me his candid opinion on the remaining life of my roof based on the condition of my slates and flashings. He ultimately wrote up an estimate to paint the rusted metal valleys, replace several dozen broken slates, repair rotted wood, and install new copper chimney flashing and a cricket. It was a difficult decision to repair vs replace the roof, but I never felt any pressure from them one way or another. I agreed to the repairs originally, but ultimately changed my mind and just decided to replace the roof. I'm sure this was a hassle to go back and forth with me, but they were very patient, and ultimately returned my deposit. "Brian arrived promptly as scheduled and asked to see areas of concern visible in the house. After checking out water damage visible inside, he headed out to the roof where he fixed and caulked popped nails and open spots on chimney flashing and ridge vents. He returned with photos of problem areas on his tablet, and used those to explain trouble spots. He then was able to go through an itemized proposal that gave me reasonable options. Consequently, we agreed that we would contract to replace a missing chimney hat ($620 estimate) but hold off on replacing chimney flashing or ridge vents as current problems could've been due to an unusually tough winter and may have been resolved by the caulking. <br /> I was very impressed that Brian went above and beyond to clean out our gutters. I didn't request or expect this, and was very grateful as the gutters are extremely difficult to reach on our high, steep roof. <br /> Overall, I have great respect for CMV Contracting and will definitely call on them for all future roofing needs. <br />"
