"Excellent workmanship, excellent expertise in all details, excellent grade of shingles, includes 30 year transferable guarantee from shingle manufacturer, the owner of Benedict Roofing hand hammered shingles and was present at all times to guide and supervise his entire team of workers each of which demonstrated their own excellent expertise in workmanship. Several very serious problems were discovered in my roof..problems caused by the previous roofer. Benedict roofing took the enormous time, and effort to correct all problems with new wood and their roofing expertise. My house is now in better condition..more safe, secure and protected..I TRUST and KNOW that. Bob Benedict(the owner) has promised that he will come over anytime I have a problem with the roofing in the next 10 years..and I trust in Bob completely. I KNOW that Bob CARES. Bob and everyone of his workers are kind, caring, human beings with skills on the level of supreme excellence. I also want to mention that they gave great care to protecting my new siding from being injured during the roofing process. They also did an excellent job with cleanup..there was never a time when anything was left behind to clean up.I had no concerns about my neighbor with a young child needing to be warned about a mess of nails or old roofing around my house as there was NO mess at anytime. Thank you Bob and your staff which we learned to adore with all our hearts. also.. My house is over 95 years old..and Bob understood and worked well with the effect of wood that was not always 'straight". The price was FAIR..and right in line with the other old homes roofed by Benedict Roofing on our street. I am VERY happy and HIGHLY recommend Benedict Roofing!!"

"Drew was very thorough and knowledgeable when he performed his inspection on our roof. His opinion was that our roof still had some life left and that we should hold off on replacement. It was refreshing to have a contractor who was honest and genuinely cared about us. Thank you!"

"Wonderful! Tom from Jilek was very personable and answered all of my questions. Once under contract, they fit me into their busy schedule quicker than I expected and arrived at 7 AM the appointed day with a large crew to remove and replace the roof. Excellent work, excellent clean up, and they were done before 1:30 PM the same day. Superb professionals who do high quality work."

"RJK do first-class, professional work at all times. For this project, they removed all of our old gutters and downspouts on our house and installed new gutters, downspouts and Leaf Relief gutter guards to keep leaves and other debris out. The work done was excellent, done by two of RJK's great employees, and the entire area cleaned up afterward. They had previously done a complete roofing job on our house several years ago. We would most definitely use their services again."

"The carpentry was fantastic.. you would never know anything had been repaired. In fact, I think they did a better job than the carpenter who originally did the work. At all points in the process they gave us the lesser and more expensive options and the pro's and cons of each.

The entire house ended up needing two coats of primer to do the job right. They did the second coat no charge, so we only paid for materials.

Per code in Lakewood because of lead paint and because you don't want moisture trapped beneath the new paint (it bubbles and peels apparently), they hand washed the house instead of power washing. About half of the companies we had come out power washed and were immediately eliminated. They even came back after a year on their own to see if we needed any touch ups... we didn't because they were so thorough the first time through. It's been two years and we're still very happy with the job.

They helped with color choices and happily gave answers to any questions we had... the friendly and personal touch we were hoping for.

They weren't the very most expensive quote, but they were close. There are some things that are worth paying for... a paint job that looks good and will last a long time instead of needing repainting in 3 years is one of them.

Our next door neighbor, who is just as particular as we are, used them as well because she was so impressed with their attention to detail, speed and cleanliness. She then recommended them to an aunt who was also very pleased... especially when they ethically charged her less than they quoted because the job was easier than anticipated.

In all, this is a company to hire."

"Just had a new Owens Corning shingle roof installed by Legacy Roofing of Akron, Ohio; and, it was an outstanding experience from beginning to end - Thanks, in large part, to Rich Campbell, Project Manager. I can't say enough as to the interpersonal warmth and concern that Rich exhibited through the entire process. He wanted the best experience for us as he would have wanted for himself if it had been his own shingle roof being redone. Rich is more than a sales/project manager - he's a great guy to meet and know. The new shingle roof was professionally installed by a well managed team overseen by Rich. After the installation, Rich stopped by to review the installation with me to make certain the job was complete in its entirety. It looks great! I highly recommend Rich & Legacy Roofing."

"We received several quotes from roofing companies but Steve really sold us on Fredericksburg Builders. Our neighbors had also used them and were very happy with them. One thing that made them stand out was that we wanted new gutters and they were able to get them in many different colors, vs. a competitor that could only get them in white or brown, where we definitely needed a taupe or beige color. I appreciated that Steve told us upfront that our roof wouldn't show as 3-dimensional as our neighbors because of our pitch being alot lower, so I wasn't surprised at the end. We had a couple little hiccups, but Steve and his crew were ready to take care of them, quickly and professionally. We would definitely recommend them again and for the price of the roof, gutters and shutters, we thought it was great value!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in North Royalton, OH

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
