I selected Brett due to the thoroughness of his assessment of my house and the work required considering the last time the home was painted was 1990. It is paramount to me who comes on my property to perform work and as Brett is the proprietor with a California contractor license that greatly appealed to me. Brett made solid recommendations on how I should handle the wood rot. Brett was spot on with his assessment on the time and materials required, he and his employee were on time and only missed days because of rain. I got what I paid for - a beautiful exterior paint job handled by two professionals. Clean and neat not a drop of paint anywhere except where it belonged. "O'Brien's crew did superb work. The prep work included a great deal of sanding, and was done better than I could have done it myself. His crew painted many windows, which look great! They were very careful to protect the furniture and floors, and to close off the areas being sanded (in case any of the old paint was lead-based). O'Brien painted the exterior of our house 15 years ago, using elastomeric as the first coat, followed by regular acrylic or latex. The exterior still looks great. The only parts that need touch-up are a few places where large cracks occurred in the underlying stucco, and three windows where the paint separated from the glass in a few spots. Elastomeric is clearly the way to go."

"Date of Service : Oct 21-23, 2019. We have used So Unique three times to paint the interior and twice to paint the exterior. This job was for the interior. Jose was our estimator and he also was the crew chief that painted the exterior trim about a year prior. We needed suggestions for the proper sheen in a couple of rooms as we needed to move away from the shiny semi gloss finish yet maintain some durability in areas where moisture is more prevalent, meaning bathrooms and kitchen. He suggested eggshell which was the perfect combination of less shine but more durability. He also suggested eggshell for the trim to create greater differentiation between the wall and the trim since our new wall color was far more neutral than what was there before. Good call. As for the crew itself, Rogelio was the crew chief and he recognized our house as he was part of the crew that painted the interior 8 years prior. He's been with So Unique for 20 + years. The crew arrived promptly when promised and were so efficient that it only took 3 days to complete what Jose thought might take 4 days to finish. The owner, Mark came midday on day 1 and day 3 to inspect the work and point out any flaws he saw needed correction. He only pointed out a few minor color overflows along an edge line that separated the wall from the ceiling. Something I really appreciated was that the dry wall on the hall ceiling had a crack that needed patching but since we did not originally need the ceiling repainted, Rogelio showed Mark this and Mark said, that they would paint this hallway ceiling for us in order for the patch to blend in correctly. No additional charge. Now that impressed me. For us we will continue to use So Unique whenever our home needs additional work both inside and out."

"Once again, we had an excellent experience with Custom Exteriors. 11 years ago, we purchased Milgard windows for the whole house from Custom Exteriors which included a lifetime warranty. Overall, we've been happy with the windows. But recently one of the window's metal crank mechanisms broke. First, we called Milgard, but they were giving us the run around. We next called Custom Exteriors and talked with Chris the Service Coordinator. We explained the situation and how Milgard wasn't being helpful. Despite Custom Exteriors not working with Milgard windows anymore, Chris still agreed to send out a couple of service guys to fix the window. We told Chris that we would be happy to pay for one additional window crank to be replaced since it's the same age as the one that broke. Chris said that Custom Exteriors would replace that crank for free as well even though it wasn't broken. It's been a few days since both windows' cranks were replaced, and everything is working great. Thank you, Chris, and Custom Exteriors!"
