"I'd hire Jan and his team again. They were punctual and did great work. When they tore off the old deck, they realized the old supports were rotted so badly, nothing could be saved; no way they could have known this. No extra labor charged for what was a lot of extra work. I'd hire them again for any project, as they do a lot more than decks."

"I received a phone call about a month after the estimate. It had finally warmed up enough to do the pouring. On the scheduled day, the team showed up on time. The two men reviewed the contract with me and discussed what they were going to do. On the contract, I was given the choice between regular "mud" or the new and lighter polyurethane. I chose the poly. Even though the job took twice the estimate of the volume, I realized that the hole that was washed out used the sidewalk/driveway was larger than we all had known. When they finished, they cleaned up quite well and even told me where I could purchase some cement filler to replace the felt that was deteriorated between the sidewalk sections and the driveway sections. That was why my sidewalk section of the driveway was sinking in the first place. A few hours after they had left, we did notice a crack in the driveway slab above the pour site. This was mentioned as a possibility of the process but we were hoping that it would not happen. It was clearly stated in the contract that any cracks in existing concrete are not the responsibility of the slab jacking company. After all, you can't control the way that that much cement will react to a huge amount of pressure from underneath. That is just one of the risks that you take when you slab jack instead of a total cement replacement. It is now January and we have had no problems what so ever with that section of the driveway. It is really nice to be able to use the snow blower without hitting the raised section of the driveway. This winter, we no longer have a small ice lake on that section of the driveway. I would definitely use this service again if I saw the need."

"We called Diversified Water to begin our project in October. We wanted a specific window, that Jack ordered through a local hardware store. They arrived to do the work November 26th, due to delays in the window order. I inspected the window before they were ready to install it and noticed it was the incorrect window. Jack reordered the window at the hardware store's expense, due to their error. The remainder of the work was complete January 23. The plastic window well cover was delivered February 2nd. The photo we were shown of the window well appears white in color and the well installed is a tan color. This was not a quick project, due to the hardware store and window manufacturer. Diversified Water completed the project as they stated and for the cost quoted. We do not have any other windows needing egress windows."

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house.  My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats.  They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house.  Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough.  It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway.  It seemed really fast to me.  The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano.  We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed. <br /> We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors.  Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation. <br /> After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house.  They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down.  A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots.  We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement.  We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation.  While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house.  The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision.  Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared.  Great job guys. <br /> Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements.  We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement.  We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013.  It's been a long process, but well worth it.  Made possible by Expert House Movers! <br />"

"<br /> .When I signed the contract I was told that work would begin the following week.  To my surprise some of the crew showed up the following afternoon to bring the equipment and get things set up for work to begin the next day.  Tom, the owner, came by as well to oversee everything that was being done.  They helped me cut down several trees that I wanted removed AND they took away all of the debris. <br /> <br />  I have several dogs and a fenced in property my dogs are very social and people friendly wanted to greet everyone they come across.  I tried to keep the dogs inside the house as much as possible while the crew was working but sometimes nature has different ideas.  The crew would make sure all gates were closed and would stop work (those that were on the ground) to move to a safe area and pet my dogs and greet them.  Otherwise my dogs wanted to go into the areas with a lot of debris just to meet everyone.  The crew was very mindful of the safety of my dogs. <br /> <br /> The owner came by the house daily while work was being done and he would check in with me to make sure if I had any questions and if I was happy with how everything was going.  I was very impressed with the work ethic of the entire crew and the owner.  I am very impressed with Tom Mullens and Mullens Siding & Roofing.  I have more work that needs to be done in the future and I will certainly be calling them to get this done."

"The work was performed by Rick Klunck and his brother.  Rick Klunck is the owner of Quality Concrete and Construction, Inc. <br /> The sidewalk and patio were OK.  The problem was with the patio step.  The step was pitched towards the house instead of away from it.  There was also no caulk between the step and the foundation joist.  This resulted in water in the basement when it rained.  I caulked the step myself to stop the water from getting into the basement, but because the step is pitched towards the house, water pools against the foundation joist. <br /> I telephoned Quality Concrete at their listed number of (920) 458-1125.  You always get a recorded message when you call.  I left a message to return my call, and Rick Klunck called me that evening.  I explained the problem to him, and he said he would come and take a look at it that week.  He never showed up.  I telephoned four more times after that and left a message each time.  He never returned any of those calls and never showed up to inspect the work. <br />"

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in Sheboygan, WI

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
