"It was a pleasant experience all the way around. I hired Chex Landscaping for some irrigation repair and during the estimate Daniel informed me of his weed abatement service. I had him send me the quote for both. The repairs and the service to spray the weeds were both reasonable so I had him do both. They were quick but thorough with both services and they sprayed areas I hadn’t mentioned but wanted done. I’m super happy with the service and Daniel went above and beyond. "

"Do not work for this company. They will steal from your paycheck. They make everyone buy a set of 75$ shirts despite not being required to wear them. These shirts will fall apart the first time you put them in the wash. The NEW payroll system they use automatically deducts a lunch break from your time clock whether or not you choose to take one. The same time clock system also will not show your clock in and clock out times or prompt you to approve your time sheet. You will only have a count of the total hours you worked that day. Once a new day starts you won’t be able to see yesterdays hours. You have to rely on your manager to manually remove the lunch break from your timesheet. If there is a mistake you have to hope your supervisor was diligent enough to remember fix it. The old system didn’t have this problem we could see our hours for the entire week along with in and out times. So when you go to the labor board to get whatever hours they WILL owe you. Not only will Santa Rita not respond to the labor boards requests you will also not have enough evidence to get the labor board to get your owed pay."

"Duane and the crew did a GREAT JOB. We are not fussy people and just wanted a simple backyard for our new home. The price for the products and labor was fair in our opinion. Sometimes you pay a bit more but get so much more. The crew came early and left before too HOT which is to be expected in AZ. They would clean up each day. Duane apparently shows the plan and they just go to work. We did not have any plan for the large amount of pavers and they came up with a nice one. So pleased with them all. We highly recommend this small business...at least call get an estimate. And remember sometimes you get MORE then you pay for."

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Oro Valley, AZ

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
