"During a recent overnight storm, a medium sized tree in my back yard was blown over hitting the ground between my home and my neighbor’s home. Parts of the tree were resting on my roof and on my neighbor’s roof. Of course I wanted to get this issue resolved quickly and without incurring any further damage. The next afternoon I called AAA Arborist Tree Experts. The phone was answered promptly and I was told that Mike (the owner) would get back to me shortly. Mike called me back within 30 minutes. I described the situation and he said he would be there within the hour. True to his word, he showed up less than an hour later. He said that his crew would have to take special care to avoid doing damage to the two homes while cutting up the tree. He gave me an estimate - which I accepted. Mike and his crew arrived early the next morning. Within 90 minutes the tree was dissected and feed through a wood chipper. There was no damage to my neighbors home and because of their careful work, there was no further damage to my home. Part of the job was to grind down the tree stump. However the ground was too wet to do that when they came to remove the tree. They said they would return after the ground had time to dry. I was a little skeptical about whether they would return without me having to call them. However, I was pleasantly surprised when they showed up, on their own, to finish the job! Mike and his crew did a great job! They proved to be reliable, competent and easy to deal with. Plus, they were able to get the issue resolved QUICKLY."

"Very professional-prompt response to estimate request, very reasonable price and quick to complete the job. They did great work-they were very neat and did I mention professional? I was expecting to have to do some clean up after they left (just from previous experience with other tree removal services) but they left it perfect! Would absolutely recommend them!"

"Gabe's tree service successfully removed a large oak tree from my yard. Gabe and his crew were professional, hardworking, friendly, reliable, and fairly priced the project. They arrived on time, carefully performed the removal with no damage to surrounding planting, and clean up was thorough. I readily recommend Gabe's tree service and plan to use his services again. Thank you, Gabe and crew, for an A+ job!"

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Palatine, IL

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
