"moved into our home with 4 dogs and obtained multiple quotes intending to fence in a modest area . All of the estimates received were shockingly high. Syracuse dog fence was recommended by our veterinarian. We contacted them and the response was timely. The fence was installed by a very professional gentleman who patiently worked with us and the dogs. He returned a few weeks later to fine tune the fence., and again worked with each of the dogs. It has been several months since the installation, and the fence has performed flawlessly. We could not be more pleased with the totality of this service, and have recommended Syracuse Dog Fence to several of our friends. It is comforting to know that our dogs now are safe and secure."

Small jobs welcome

"They worked with me on the payments, were professional, courteous and timely! We not only needed a fenced in area, but also a repair of someone else's work on another fence gate that our new dog was getting out of. They came out sooner as a favor because we were worried about our dog!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Pete was the most responsive contractor We’ve ever worked with. He was very straightforward and gave us a the most prompt and fair estimate we could ask for. The deck came out even better than we expected. He went out of his way to make sure we knew he valued our business and we will hire him again for any projects we need done. My husband and I highly recommend GPG Construction!"

"This was a very involved plaster repair and remediation job, in a very old house. Grady is the only person (or company) who was willing to take on the job and drive all the way from Pennsylvania to our home in Northern Virginia. There are very few people who do this kind of work anymore (we really searched) and he is an expert in his field. We needed to work around his schedule, because he is in demand in the tri-state area, so it took awhile to schedule the work to begin... but it was worth it."

"Our dog kept breaking through the old deteriorating fence panels, so we decided to replace the fence. After contacting other companies in the area, and receiving quotes, we decided on Ace Fencing. We felt comfortable speaking with Mark and his employees regarding the project. Mark and his employees were professional, and worked tirelessly to ensure the fence was installed properly. After the fence was finished, the installers gave me tips/recommendations that would help the fence last a very long time. Another great perk about Ace Fencing, is that their quote came in over $1000 less than the competitors in the area."

"The process of getting Fence installed in this city is ridiculous. Fence buyers beware. If you want something installed for next summer? Buy it NOW for next summer.

We went to the Butler fence store the first week of April to see about cost and the time frame to add fencing within our already fenced yard for a dog run. The muddy spring and the two new puppies made this addition to the yard an absolute necessity. We told them we needed it ASAP and how soon could they do it. Cost was secondary to the time frame. He said they would have to put the install date at 8 weeks (standard for aluminum fencing) .... but he would do everything in his power to get the materials here sooner for us . Installation would only take a day. That put the install date at June 5, 2013, unless he could work his magic and get it for us sooner.
He came out and measured, we agreed to the contract and gave him a 1500 dollar deposit. They came out the next week and put in a temporary fence.. I should add that I asked the salesmen to let us know of any delays or changes in the timeframe.

We NEVER got another call from this company until AUGUST 23. Secretary called and said they were ready to set up a day for the install. Asked why she hadn't called me in June when it was SUPPOSED to be installed and she had no response. I told her I thought this was a scam and they had left town with my money. Seriously... even catalog companies have to let you know if the product won't be available in the next 30 days. She said there must have been a delay in getting the material. A call to the company said that was not the case. It was 11 WEEKS................11 WEEKS past the 8 weeks they originally told us it would take to do this project. Our ASAP project to deal with a muddy yard for the dogs turned into a 5 month project bypassing Spring and almost the entire summer. Our vacation was planned for the last week in Aug because of this project so installation needed to be scheduled for 9/16/13.
We left the fence gate unlocked for their arrival the morning of the 16th. I will say the two workers doing the install did their job well and worked all day although it was later discovered that all the dirt and junk they pulled out of the holes they dug for the posts was thrown on top of my husbands compost pile at the back of our yard. He was not happy. A knock on the door and a question as to where they could dispose of the dirt and debris would have answered their question. They didn't attach the gate for some reason, so they left without completing the job.. They also left without telling us when they would return. We assumed they would be back the next day so again we left the fence unlocked for them. They never showed the next day or the day after that. We finally locked up the fence for the protection of our 2 pups and figured they would call and let us know what was happening and the resin for the delay in finishing. The reason we even have a fence that locks is because for our dogs protection. We waited for them to call to let us know when they would finish. They never called. Friday the 20th around 4:30 PM I heard one of my dogs barking from the other end of the house. The Butler Fence truck was in the driveway and they were OPENING MY FENCE WITH SOME MASTER KEY !!!! This is trespassing!!! They didn't even come to the door and ring the bell to see if anyone was home or to ask someone to open the gate for them. I want to add that the main fence we have was NOT INSTALLED by them . I was tempted to call the POLICE...... probably should have. They did not have permission to come thru a locked gate on to my property .

Had my dogs been out ....one could have gotten out of the yard. They finished up and left using their MASTER key to lock up. I hope the police are aware that these people have master keys to gain access to peoples property. Though it as safe to leave my screen door to the patio unlocked in the afternoons as a "locked" 6 foot fence prohibited access to my yard . I'm rethinking that one.
I sent them the check for the balance due the following week and they are now sending me notices that maybe I overlooked the balance due. Arrghhhhh !!!

Read my report for Atlas Fence, the company that installed our main fence last year. There was a reason we didn't return to them for this project. Seems that once these companies have your sizable downpayment...... you are at their mercy. They can show up to do the contracted project almost 3 months after the scheduled 8 week wait but INSIST I pay my balance IMMEDIATLEY upon completion or face interest changes for my "delay." There are no consequences for their treatment of their clientele because ......how often are you going to have a fence installed. They don't care about their customers. They will say and promise anything until they have your check. Their contract only protects them. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE.

I want to thank Angie's list for this service. I have found the best plumber and housepainter thru this service. Most companies that give you references only give you the names of people they know will give them a positive review. Angie's allows the people that these companies rather you never heard from ...have a say. :)

The work they performed was fine. The lack of communication and making us wait over 5+ months is the reason I gave them a D rating."

FAQs for wood fence repair projects in Parish, NY

The time it takes to install a swimming pool fence varies depending on the project's complexity. A simple installation can be completed in about two hours. However, if your project involves concrete work, regrading, custom installations, or challenging terrain, it could take up to two full days. Each additional factor increases the labor and time needed to ensure your fence meets safety standards.

Yes, installing a lock on your pool gate enhances safety by preventing unauthorized access. A self-closing, self-latching gate with a key-lock mechanism provides strong protection, helping to keep children and pets safe. Securing your pool gate adds an extra layer of security and offers peace of mind when using the pool area.

A pool fence requires a specific height to secure the pool area. In most states, the fence must be 48 inches tall; some regulations require 60 inches for enhanced safety. Checking local building codes guarantees compliance with these height requirements. A taller fence strengthens protection and improves the overall security of your pool area, ensuring it meets stringent safety standards.

Mesh and tempered glass are among the safest pool fencing choices because their design and smooth surfaces make them resistant to climbing attempts. They provide consistent, rigid barriers that prevent unauthorized access to your pool area. These materials ensure optimal safety for children and pets. In addition, incorporating a pool safety net further enhances protection and addresses additional security concerns, ensuring that your pool remains a safe environment for all users.

Pool fencing requirements vary by local, state, and federal regulations. In most states, installing a pool fence is mandatory for safety and insurance purposes. Ask your pool fence pro for local regulations or check with your local planning department to understand the specific height and design requirements for your area. Complying with these regulations ensures legal compliance and enhances safety.
