"<p>We recommend this contractor.</p> <p><strong>Background.</strong>  This was our first project since the construction of the house in 10 years.  We researched the options of wood and metal buildings.  The cost of each was about the same.  However, the metal building was a quicker and durable option. </p> <p><strong>Contractor Choice.</strong>  We chose the contractor due to the price, the interview with the owner, their website, and a testimonial; we visited a previous job site where they did a similar project.  In general, the owner was more responsive and professional than the other contractors.  The other companies seem less professional and some were just odd.  The local contractor business in our area is competitive but not cheap.  </p> <p><strong>Foundation. </strong> Overall, the survey, land clearing, and laying the A/B aggregate went well.  We chose to hire an additional contractor to clear more land to expedite their work and for other projects.  Foundation framing and cement work went according plan.  During this phase, we were very much involved with their work since we need to integrate our other requirements into the foundation.  We needed to run water and power conduits into the foundation before the pouring of the concrete.  In addition, we prepared a portion of the foundation to support an in ground carlift.  All these actions required us to coordinate closely with the construction team.  Though our special modifications may have been a deviation from their standard work, they were more than willing to work with us to accommodate each special request and let us do the portions of the work we intended to do ourselves.  In addition, we were welcome to ask questions and review the work daily to ensure that there were no misunderstandings or incorrect expectations.   We enjoyed working with both the owner Caleb and his site lead, Calvin.</p> <p><strong>Erection.  </strong>We elected to wait 30 days to begin the erection after the pouring of foundation.  The erection went without any major incident. Caleb's crew performed all of the work for this portion, and did so at remarkable speed.</p> <p><strong>Follow-up.  </strong>We required a follow up visit to fix one of the overhead roll up garage doors that came off its track.  The contractor responded within a reasonable time and completed the work without issue.<br /> Overall, we were very satisfied with the entire experience, from bid through construction to completion. "Southwest Building Solutions is the very best contractor I have ever used. From the beginning, working with Collin to get the building I was looking to get built at the right price. From there I met with Scott the owner of the company and we discussed all the things I wanted from the building size and add-ons; no other builder came close to getting what I wanted. When I finished talking to Scott, I knew I had the right builder. I then moved on to Chris the superintendent he also worked with me to make sure that all the things that were discussed were going to be completed. "All I can say is that it that it is my experience that is VERY difficult to get reliable high quality work performed in Tucson and it is never an easy process. As for the work this company performed, I had hired other contractors to get this work done and they charged me money and did the work but the work was either poor quality or the work done did not fix the problem. One guy in Tucson, the original one that I hired to do the outdoor lighting, even contracted with me, took my deposit money, and then called me the day he was to start and told me, sorry I can't do the job and he still has not returned my deposit. So as for the work done by Brooks Restorations, well I have nothing but compliments. the work took longer to perform than estimated, some due to unforeseen issues, but people drive by my house now at night and they think its a resort. My bathroom wall is beautiful, the marble tile matches and the wall is not rotting anymore from the shower water hitting it. And, my flat roof, well the roof is now draining when it rains and the water is not puddling and remaining up on the roof after a rain, which is not good in Tucson. When the home was built, they did not slope the roof correctly and this has always been a problem. Other people I hired just kept coating it and making it worse. It actually took 16 bags of concrete to fix it, when he thought 7 would do it, and he worked on it till it drained properly and then, re-coated it. He even replaced the wood on the roof that had rotted with material that won't rot and which I had paid someone else to replace and they did not. I would HIGHLY recommend this company."
